Default Resistor Box wiring with pics

I know that this topic has been covered many times but after doing a search yesterday i noticed that there were only a couple good write ups on the resistor box install. Although they were well done, it wasnt exactly what i was looking for as far as cleanliness and simplicitiy went so i took pictures last night during the wiring process and decided to post em up this morning. Besides, alot of pictures in the archived threads dont work anymore.

Okay so first off, this was done on a 99-00 Si chassis so the dead plug was located underneath the intake manifold. I already had the harness out of the car so it was much easier.

On the dead plug you will notice 6 yellow/black wires. Check the continuity of each yellow/black wire to determine which ones lead to each injector (the 2 lighter colored yellow/black wires go straight to the ecu). Once that is done, cut them leaving a couple inches left on the plug side of the wire so that you have room to strip and solder. You will take all 4 wires that are still connected to the plug and tie/solder them together along with the power input wire of the resistor box as shown below.

Be sure to use heat skrink on all your exposed/soldered wires.

Next, you will take the remaining 4 yellow/black wires that lead to the injectors and individually solder them to each of the output wires on the resistor box. (no specific order). Again, be sure to heat shrink all your soldered wires!

Once completed, simply plug in the resister box and you're set! It is up to you how clean you want to make this install, but here is what I did. I chose this way so that i wouldnt have to extend any wires and the resistor box is out of sight and secured on the harness.

I hope this was helpful to some of you who might have been a little confused on the dead plug wiring or maybe even where to mount the resistor box. Enjoy!

On this thread: https://honda-tech.com/zero...age=1 in step 5 it is saying that the 4 injector wires go to the one power wire from the resistor box.
And on this thread: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=736737 step 4 is saying that the 4 injector wires go to the 4 black wires on the resistor box.
Which is right? Also I have noticed some obd1 setups people leave the dead plug in place like you did and some just cut it off completely...why is this?

The correct answer is, the 4 wires coming from the dead plug all connect to the 1 power wire of the resistor box and the 4 wires going to the injector go the each individual 4 wires on the resistor box. The colors may be different on the resistor box but its self explanatory. There will only be 1 wire of one color, and 4 wires of another color on the resistor box. Hope this helps. I know this works cause my car just started doing it this way.

I found a solution for an obd1 chassis setup. Go to Rywire.com and buy one of their distributor jumpers with a 8pin male on it. Cut the other plugs off since you wont be needing them, and simply solder the resistor box plug in their place. Now you have a cool little plug and play harness where you will never have to manipulate the dead end plug ever again!!!!!!!!!

Now on that note, since I wont be splicing into the dead end plug the 4 INJECTOR WIRES go to the 1 power wire right?

You'' cut the 4 wires from the dead plug and the wires that lead to the injectors will connect to each of the 4 wires on the resistor box. The 4 wires that are still connected to the dead plug go to that 1 wire on the box.
