Repeated Failure of DW300 Fuel Pump
Has anyone else had failures on Deatchwerks DW300 pumps ?
I run a Full Blown hanger with twin DW300's. This is the second pump that has failed this year, and in-fact it is the replacement one that failed again within 6 months.
The car is setup to run on both pump gasoline and E96. After reading some reviews on Corvette and Mustang forums where they suggested switching from gasoline to Ethanol might be the cause, I've only run the car on E96.
I also run Manhattan Oil's Fuel Lube in an attempt to counteract the negative effects of alcohol fuels but DW specifically advertise their product as being Ethanol compatible.
The pumps shouldn't be near being maxxed out either as the car is only at 560whp on a dynapack.
Any thoughts ?

I would do two things:
1. Ask Deatchwerks what failed on the pump and any advice they may have if it relates to the installation etc.
2. Revisit your electrical supply and make sure its adequate and not underpowering the pump.

Are any of the lines on the hanger kinked or twisted? That can kill a fuel pump fairly fast. Especially in a high flow/high demand setup.
Assuming that's not the issue and your wiring setup can support the current demands then it has to be a problem with the pump... Any fuel issues would still fall back on a pump problem as DW claims the pump is ethanol compatible.
Your best bet is to contact DW about the failures.

After sending back the first pump they stated it was "just over 10% under normal spec", however it leaned out close to a full AFR point on the dyno telling me it was more than 10%...
This second failure went from working to no fuel.
Does anyone know if the Supra Denso pumps can work in our cars with the Full Blown hanger ?

There's a site with the physical measurements of those kinds of pumps. I'll try to find it. I just don't know if the supra pump can survive e85

I ran my pumps originally the same. Relay would overheat and fail. Lean conditions and thought it was pumps. Changed pumps same story. Switched to run each pump off its own relay and wiring. Problem solved.

I haven't personally seen a lot of DW300's fail, although we recently have had a string of Aeromotive 340lph's failing.

So my options are basically:
1) Keep dual hanger and use 2 x Walboro 255's (Ethanol impact on pump ??)
2) Change whole fuel system to a Integrated Engineering dual 044 submerged surge-tank and feed with a Walboro 255
3) Chance another 2 "300+ ethanol" in-tank pump (AEM Green maybe)
4) Keep dual hangers and use dual Supra Denso pumps (Ethanol impact ??)

044a don't like ethanol at all. While the walbro 255 isn't listed as being ethanol compatible lots of people have had good luck using it with e85. The AEM "green" pump and the walbro e85 400/450 pumps are all solid units with a good track record in addition to being affordable.
As far as the aeromotive stealth pump I've heard about a lot of them failing as well. Also having aeromotive say that their ethanol pumps require replacing the downstream fuel filter every 10 run hours is complete ludacris bullshit... If you daily drove a car then in theory you'd have to replace the filter basically every day.
I'm currently deciding between the aem green pump or the big 400 walbro e85 pump. You can't go wrong with either.
Have you checked the wiring yet? Radium Engineering offers a super nice wiring kit using chemical resistant Teflon wire, oxygen free copper wiring, and weatherproof connectors including a fuse holder and relay holder. The kit isn't terribly expensive but the quality is top notch and makes hardwiring pumps a breeze

I'd prefer to stay with the current hardware so to speak, so that leaves either a big single Walboro on the stock hanger or 2 x AEM Green on the dual-hanger.
Interesting to note your comment on the 044 and Ethanol, as many of the race cars here in South Africa use 2-3 044's on Ethanol and/or Methanol cars.

Never did like dual pump setups. What relay are you using? I had a standard 30amp relay when I was running a walbro 450 in tank and melted that thing. You really should use a high grade relay and each pump should have it's own dedicated circuit or one single heavier gauge wire with a high amp relay feeding the two pumps. IMO each pump should have it's own 10awg wire and 50 amp battery isolator type relay. Link below for isolator relay
I personally run a 100amp scosche bettery isolator relay with a single Magnafuel pump and 8awg wiring. Love single pump setups much easier to diag and plenty of singles in the market that'll flow to make BIG power.
