Just do it with the motor on and dont worry about it, i mean while in neutral spray a little, dont hold it until redline obviously.

you can purge through the motor while in neutral(no load on the engine) like others have said. my .02 though is to spend the $60 dynotune charges or buy a used one for $50

I gave you a serious answer.
Anyone who really knows nitrous will tell you the same. A little nitrous burnout is perfect to purge nitrous and warm up the slicks/drag radials.

its a street car.
i was just wondering if it was ok to purge into the motor, then start it. ive been waiting a few min before starting it because the 1st time i purged it then started it and it revved up. i was thinking that is a bad thing.

So what if its a street car? If you need every last little bit of nitrous to squeeze that last .001 of a second out then you should be more concerned about if you're going to get the traction. A good burnout is required to get the tires warm.
Do you really think it's a good idea to have nitrous sitting in your intake when you start the car? The engine will suck it in right away when its not even warmed up to normal operating temp, oil pressure down still, etc. If you don't have a purge kit, do it the RIGHT WAY and do a burnout.

dude, how more serious of an answer do you want??!?!?! arm the nitrous, do a mini burnout in 1st, then you're set! you'll be running clean nitrous through the lines once you run it through.

thought it was a joke. i dont think im gonna be doing a nitrous burnout on main roads. if i race, its usually on the highway or a sudden thing. ill just get a purge kit damnit.

If it's a sudden thing don't waste your time trying to purge, you need to be more considered about getting the jump on the other guy. If you're doing a real race, BURNOUT.

Re: purging nitrous without a purge (zcnos)
I just purged into the intake with the car off and then started it in neutral. didn't hurt anything. very helpful for some first gear nitrous madness.
