was wondering if anyone has had cooling issues with a turbo setup with ac. i almost think the rad is not getting enough airlfow since it has to go thru the intercooler and condenser before getting to the radiator. there is a puller 12inch flexalite fan. 1150 cfm. its an integra with an ac neukin manifold and using a civic aluminum radiator.

just wanted some input to help with airflow to radiator

is your radiator dual core?

change your thermostat out by any chance?

yeah sorry. dual core. thermo is factory brand new

i do live in phoenix. outside temps are 105 if not more at times. temps im seeing are 210. creeps up at times to 215

The trick is to keep your intercooler and you radiator close together.
If not there is alot of tumble between the two and it cuts airflow off
dramaticly to your radiator at cruising speeds. 2 inches or less is what you want.
Also are you running a radiator shroud?

i did have a shroud on the mishimoto fan but the fan didnt flow worth the ****. so we put a larger better fan on there that flows better. there is a good space between the intercooler and the condenser. the condenser and rad are really close though like factory

the intercooler is mounted to the bottom of the bumper support

try making a shroud first. Then if that doesnt work pull off your bumper
cover and get your ic, condenser, and radiator closer together.
Also If your turbo setup allows an integra radiator They cool almost
anything down and have room for 2 fans.

yeah i was hoping to fit a full size but that a no go. i will see about bringing everything closer though

mine ran hot with mishi's fan as well, tried the shroud and not with great results.

(makes me think they came out with the triple core to fix this)

but i sourced a 13" 1300 CFM fan @xenocron.com and now my temps are 190 on a hot day.

any luck with this because I am in the same boat. I have same manifold with nuekin radiator and fan. Tried 170 degree thermostat and still runs hot.

The ability to run ac usualy forces the turbo to be in the way of a full size radiator. Placing them close together usualy is accomplished by making new supports and clearancing the bumper or core support. A sawzaw and die grinder are my preffered tools when doing this. If your overheating at idle a new fan would fix it with no moving necessary.

I had a similar problem in my LSVTEC turbo crx. I have a thick 2 1/2 inch single core aluminum radiator with a high flow fan plus another fan on the Intercooler to pull air through to the radiator, it seems to keep temps stable around 190 but after a short time of light to light driving it will creep above the 200 deg mark. So at first I figured it was a air flow problem but after the double up of fans and it was still getting hot I decided there was no way its a flow problem any more, so I decided to try something diff. I pulled the hood off the car and drove around and sure enough with both fans and no hood the car stayed pretty stable at around 180 ~ 85 so long story short maybe you should consider venting your hood but that's just a suggestion or you can keep trying to create more flow by maybe tripling fans lol. Venting the hood worked for me so maybe it will work for you.

i have the same prob the thermostat creeps up on me on the high way but only when its hot out i ordered a daul core 2 inch thick1/2 size rad so i hope it dose the trick let you know
