Default odyssey batteries

so does anyone have one of those mini odyssey batteries in their car? i need to get one because battery relocation is not an option and theres no room in my engine bay. so i was looking at the pc680 odyssey battery. anyone use one of these before? its to crank a b18a. says it only has 220 cca and 300 ca? seems low :-\

It'll start the engine fine, just don't leave the key on with anything drawing from it. From my experience, those batteries are always a problem. It's not a matter of if, only when.

I have a 11.7:1 ls vtec and it starts everytime no problem. I'm running the pc680 and have 2 amps one sub so on so on. never had a concern and like the battery size alot stood it on end and post face the engine. Built my own tie down.

i have a pc680. i always charge before race. never had a problem in 20 something weekends. not sure i would run one in a DD. they drain fast if the alternator isn't charging. guess it depends on how much reserve you need and what its for.

those little batteries are garbage ! i had one in my racecar last season. (it was brand new at the time) on the dyno we had to keep a charger on it, so it would start. at the MIR BOTI race, i had to crank the car a bunch because of a fuel system situation, needless to say, i didnt get the car started

we also ran one of them little batteries on the other racecar, the terminal came loose in the battery housing or whatever its refered to as.. but anyhow. the car had problems at the launch the terminal would come loose, the car would loose all power. it happend a few times before, the battery just quit.

i have since switched to a Rock racing battery, and did not have any similar problems this season.

the old battery

the new battery

Must have been a problem with the battery , I have had mine for years and it has always worked fine. I have seen some 7 years old and still going. They are better than any stock battery I have used

I have the odyssey seems like a good battery. Don't let them get real run down to often, on a daily driver with a decent alternator I can't see this happening.
i am interested in how long it will last not being a daily, my car used to chew through similar sized batteries they were much cheaper however.

im runnign one, no problems yet. although it didnt start my car one day, maybe i left the radio on while cleaning it or something. They dont like alot of draw (ie, cant blast your radio with wipers/hibeams/heater and operate the sunroof) but for a weekend car or even a daily in the summer i dont see it being a problem.

thanks for the input davef and very nice car, unfortunately size is the biggest issue here which is why odyssey seems like my solution. weight not so much, just size.
