Need help...i think i got scammed. :(
here's what's going on, mods sorry if this shoulden't be posted here but i'm not sure where to post this.
basically, i was looking for an AEM fuel rail, found somebody selling one on here. i PM'd him and he said he'll sell it to me. now i don't have a CC on my paypal account so i had to send out an e-cheque thing, well after a week it cleared and payment was sent to his paypal adress. now i keep sending this guy IM's and e-mails but he doesn't respond....and the payment cleared about two weeks ago. am i screwed? (sry i'm a paypal nOOb). it's just so discouraging when your doing your first boost build, it was only for $65USD but that money could have gone to my oil line kit

prolly screwed, but for 65 bucks it was a good lesson learned. Always check references and if it's to good to be true... IT IS
platinum.

go through the support section in pay pal and have them open up a case and they can try to get your money back........

This is the reason why you should always use a CC..... because its alot easier to dispute the charges and get your money back. If you are able to get anything back it is going to take some time. Check with your bank and see what they can do about it also.
Good luck

don't wait a long time to file the dispute with paypal. after a certain amount of time, they won't help you.

i found out i was being scammed on a 2500 dollar deal on ebay, the day i had actually bought it. the money had not even cleared from my bank definately early enough to stop the process. paypal told me i had to wait until i in fact did not receive the product in the time specified before i could file a claim.
called my bank and cancelled payment before paypal could get it. im assuming they had cleared the money to his account anyway, sucks for them i tried to stop this the day it happened.
so after that week i filed the claim, and won of course. so paypal admits i was a victim of fraud. well attempted fraud. and they still came after me for the money, they started to call me to collect. i said to them "i won this claim, are you seriously trying to tell me you come after the victim for the money?"
paypal doesnt care where they get the money, or who gets what money as long as they get their cut.
sorry to rant but good luck with any type of reclamation on your paypal deal.
