Default Need help on ARP Head stud install

Ok, I have a B16, stock bottom end, stock head. I have a setup for around 300whp, and wanted to add arp head studs for insurance. I installed the studs but hand like the directions said...Put the head on, and grabbed the nuts. I then put the nuts in a few sockets and it fit in a 14mm, so I put washers on and light put on the nuts.

I then grabbed my torque wrench and put them to 22 lbs, and went to go tighter and it slipped so i was like, Ok, maybe it is standard, so I tried and tried and couldnt find one to fit.

So I call ARP and ask them what sit the nut is for my application, they tell me 7/16 12 point, so I goto sears, grab the right one, and it doesnt fit...I was like hmm, and tried it on the few i didnt have torqued down yet, and it wouldnt spin em either.

So my problem is, what the heck is the right size?

Try a deep 1/2" socket. I just retorque my friends arp head studs and I used a 1/2" socket. 13mm seems to fit, but really it's a no go.
