Is my IAT sensor going bad or something?
I have been datalogging with uberdata for a couple of days and everything seems to read correctly except for my iat's. I thought normal iat's are suppost to be well over 100degrees, but for some reason my iat's don't go above 70 something. Since I am running in open loop all the time does my iat sensor even effect anything?

Had a similar problem....but mine would always read 220 degrees no matter how long my car was running. Then right before it did go out, it temp would flucuate very fast when you would rev the car. Just take it off the manifold, and if it looks melted (which mine was)....then just buy a new one.

hmm maybe i'll have to pull mine out of the charge pipe and look at it. Its never looked melted to me before and the temp really doesn't fluctuate very much at all when i'm logging. Has anyone else experienced something similar? Also do you guys know if this is gonna effect the way my car runs sense i'm always in open loop?..or does the ecu just make changes off of the iat when in closed loop?

Oh yea, if you sodered* the connections anywhere, redo it. That was also a part of my problem (the soder went bad for some reason).

well i took it out today and it didn't look messed up or anything. I've never resoldered the wires or anything so they should be fine.

well hmmmm? I would say from here, I will let the guru's take over. They would have better knowledge than I would, I assume.

Best bet is to swap it with a known-good unit and go from there. I think there is a testing pricedure for the IAT in the Helms too if you want to go that route.

Does anyone have the voltage to temp. conversion for the IAT sensor? I could try logging my temps using my widebands datalogging software that way.
