OmniPower/Hondata 4 Bar Map Sensor with s300
Hi Guys,
I am running into an issue with the OmniPower/Hondata 4 bar map sensor. I replaced my GM 3 bar (which was working fine) with the upgraded piece to move the map sensor back to the throttle body location.
Unfortunately the car will not hold idle now and runs extremely rough even after uploading the settings in sManager to accommodate the new map sensor. Yes... I have the latest update of sManager 1.3.6.0.
It shows the scalar settings @ 838 mbar/volt and offset at 31 mbar. Did anyone need to change these settings? It appears the new map sensor is reading 6-7lbs of boost at idle.
I assumed this would have been a plug and play. Maybe I am wrong.
Thanks for your help!

Re: OmniPower/Hondata 4 Bar Map Sensor with s300 (11psiGSR)
I had the same problem with my 4bar map and couldnt even get my car to start with it.I put my stock map sensor on and it started right up with it.I was told that you have to tune just for the 4 bar map cause its a guessing game on settings and so on. I really don't know alot about it but mine did the same thing and put my stock one on and it was fine as long as I was under about 11psi of boost. Did you figure out why it doesn't want to run right with the 4bar?

you'd figure that Hondata would at least make the settings and do the research to make it a simple plug and play and have the preset scale to be accurate since it is there product.

Re: OmniPower/Hondata 4 Bar Map Sensor with s300 (11psiGSR)
I doubt the issue is the map sensor as they are tested before being shipped :-)
One issue I have seen is a lot of people are forgetting to properly shield & un-install their 3bar sensors properly. Another issue I have seen is leaking orings (old orings sometimes need to be replaced between the throttle body & map sensor.
The easy way to test the 4 bar to make sure the sensor is functioning properly is to check the voltages.
The green wire is a ground.
White wire is signal which is around 1.1 volts depending on what elevation you are at.
Yellow wire is a 5 volt power supply.
If you are still having issues, contact omnipower or the vendor you purchased the sensor from.

The map sensor this one replaced (GM 3 bar) is completely out of the car now. I have reverted back to the stock harness. Everything appears to be functional at the sensor. The white wire shows 1.149 volts... the yellow shows 4.990 volts using the middle green wire as a ground. Based on that I am guessing this suggests the sensor is fine. The o ring seems fine as well. Does not appear to be any vacuum leaks either.
Unfortunately the cars immune system continues to reject this new sensor... I will continue to diagnose tomorrow.
Oh... and BTW mtber... I purchased the map sensor through you via eBay.
Any other suggestions are appreciated. Thanks!

Re: OmniPower/Hondata 4 Bar Map Sensor with s300 (Supacharge)
I had no problem with this map sensor, plug n play, but I tuned my car with this sensor so maybe that had something to do with it. I'd talk to omnipower or your tuner and consider getting another tuning session with this new sensor man.

Sorry guys, I did not realize my Mozilla pop-up blocker was keeping PM's from me on Honda-Tech. I responded to your PM, omniman. Sorry for the delay. Thanks for being so willing to help. I am sure we can resolve this fairly easily.
Responding to you... sp00led right now.
Thanks for everyone's responses!

very stressful on sellers when people post up a thread bashing their product.
but i want to be informed of problems with products im considering buying. Plus it gives the sellers an awesome chance to stand behind their product and reassure any worries what so ever.

I want to make sure I am clear here... I am not in ANY way trying to "bash" the Hondata/Omnipower map sensor. The fact is we are not sure what the problem is. It may actually have NOTHING to do with the map sensor at all.
Omnipower has been very helpful so far. Even though we are still unsure of the issue, they have volunteered to send a new sensor just to be sure. In my book that gets a HUGE thumbs up and if anything speaks nothing but positively about their support.
I will keep everyone posted on the results. I am sure whatever it proves to be... it will be resolved shortly.
