Louvered glass packed core, Resonator which way faces back?
Which way faces back? If you look into it, one side is smooth and the other side you can see the holes. Which way is it supposed to be installed?

Re: Louvered glass packed core, Resonator which way faces back? (Wo-Nelly)
If you want it slightly quieter with a minute performance decrease face it this way
////////////////////////////////////////
exhaust flows this way -> -> ->
\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\
If you want it a little bit louder for that last 2% in performance, face the holes the other way
\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\
exhaust -> -> -> -> -> -> -> ->
//////////////////////////////////////////
Hard to describe, but if the holes are open "towards" the exhaust flow more exhaust will flow into the holes & quiet things down at the slight expense of performance. Other way around more exhaust flows around the holes & more noise.

Will the loss in power be significant enough if the holes are open towards the exhaust flow?

Re: Louvered glass packed core, Resonator which way faces back? (OH ISH ITS DAT FOOL JAMES)
do it this way
////////////////////////////////////////
exhaust flows this way -> -> ->
\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\
the other way would defeat the whole purpose of using the resonator

agreed. the design kinda sucks though but itll quiet it down
