Default Leaking oil out of my sandwhich adapter! Help! :(

The oil feed line was tee'd off my sensor to begin with. It leaked bad but i was to afraid to tighten it up. So i went and bought a GE sandwhich adapter to clean up the line. After I installed it all I crank the motor and nothing leaks. So I thought it really was easy as that, like everyone said it would be with the adapter. Surely enough after 30 seconds of idle, it starts dripping.

I remove everything, inspect it, clean it, tighten and reinstall. Still same problem. Repeated the process about 4 more times. Still same problem.

So what ive done is wiped everything off real good then crank the motor. Let it run for 5-8 seconds. Turn motor off and rub my finger around the adapter. Its only leaking from the bottem. Its not any of my fittings its only oozing out the bottem. So I finally got discouraged enough and decided to come and see if anyone else knows.

Setup is as follows:

- Coming out of the block is the port for the oil filter. Ive wiped it off and clean it.

- Next up is the block side of the adapter. There is a thin rubber O ring around the outside of it. That is the only thing sealing it to the block.

- Then there is the thin little O ring that looks like it sort of "clips" on. Its at the port on the adapter right as you screw it into the block.

- Lastly the oil filter. Its brand new with the thicker rubber O ring around it sealing it to the adapter.

Since there is tons of oil flowing through there and its not leaking bad, Im almost 100% sure ive installed it right. Its pretty much self explainitory. It doesnt seem to be leaking out of the adapter where it meets the filter. Although hard to tell I believe its where it meets the block. Its right at the bottem too. Its barely oozing out but it builds up and drips down my axels and eventually on the ground. As the motor heats up and the oil gets thinner I guess, it beings to drip more rapidly. But its not gushing out or anything.

So thats it. Sorry for the length and if youve come this far you must intend on helping. I had to write it long because its not an obvious problem. Im stumped and no one here at the house can think of a damn thing. I can supply as many pictures as needed if anyone wants to see. This damn oil leak caused me to reschedule my tuning appointment. So im ready to do anything to get this fixed.

Thanks..

hows it tighten to the block? I have some generic one, and i had to tightne it up pretty damned hard to get it to seal up all the way. But my problems were always from my fittings. Just wondering, i know it sucks, oil issues always do.

i put honda bond on everything, it was the only way i stoped mine from leaking, i might try and use an old oil filter o ring and see if it helps better

Ok moments after I wrote this I went outside and started my car and drove it down the road. I was so pissed i didnt care to leak oil I just wanted to hear that sweet turbo. Turns out the motor did not drip a single drop of oil. How the HELL did it just fix itself?

I took my brother for a ride a little bit ago and let him drive back. No leaks.

Got back in the garage and after the motor was turned off I noticed about 3-4 drops from the back of the oil pan. The adapter doesnt just feel greasy now, it feels a bit more "moist". maybe after we drove it the oil got hot and thin and sliped through somewhere. Also, 1-2 drops from my feed line that connects to the turbo. Its because the elbow isnt tight enough. Its hardly tight at all and its barely leaking. It will be a easy fix i dont care about that.

Im still I-ffy on weither to drive it around town to get gas and talk to a muffler shop about welding my exhaust up. I dont want the oil to hit normal temps and start drippping again.

Honda bond? I'll look into that. I do know after the past 3 days of this **** I never want to deal with a oil problem again. Such a pain in the ***.

Not to hijack the thread, but is the fitting in the center of the oil sandwich supposed to be loose? I don't remember it being loose when I installed it. I took it off because I was paranoid it would leak and was going to put some hondabond on it. Now the fitting spins freely inside the sandwich.

I NOW HOW TO FIX THIS!!!!!!

buy yourself an RXS Type S oil filter and it will not leak anymore.

the inside of the filter is tapered enough to clear the nut used to tighen the sandwich plate to the block.

i promise you this will work

When I had the motor out I put gobs on hondabond on it, and tightened it down the best I could, and lookst to bee good to me because it leaked before that.

Hondabond or permatex ultra grey, same ****, both will seal it all up.

Just an FYI. Golden Eagle says it is normal for the center section to be able to rotate freely of the outer section. I guess once it's screwed on it can't move.

double..

yeah I think i'll just give up on worrying about it. It leaks a tiny bit. When you start tapping into a block and motor that was never intended to be turbocharged i guess **** like this happens. Its leaking just a tiny bit. I drove it for a good 30 min to a friends house and it had only gotten moist around the adapter. It might leak a drop after some hours but thats it.

I have a blox sandwich adapter.

When I put my turbo setup on. I had to put everything back to stock because I needed to go to school, and other problems. Boost will come soon though......

But back on topic. I have a blox adapter, and when I first started up my motor that bitch leaked a **** load!!

I thought how the hell..... Didn't get a chance to try it out again, because like stated before I had to return everything back to stock. But yeah, I thought I tightened it up, but maybe I really didn't. Oh well, when it's time to boost, then I will try again.

my ge oil sandwich did the same, did you tighting the nut with a corect size socket and rachet? i made the mistake of not tighting it enough with the wrong size socket, so it wasn't as tight as i thought it was. Then i went out a brought the correct size socket and tighten it up correctly and tightly, which no more oil leaking I used Fram oil filter on my ge, which worked great for me
