keep blowing coolant hoses... need help
i would like to figure out why i keep blowing hoses. i have blown about 5 coolant hoses in the past 3 months. 3 smaller hoses from near the firewall (2 from the intake mani to the block) and 2 upper rad hoses. at first i was thinking the hoses were just old (94 teg) but the engine is swapped and many hoses are way newer than that. plus, i blew the same upper rad hose twice. any help would be awesome. i have a few ideas about what the cause could be. maybe too much pressure plus heat bc of my particular setup. tell me what you think.
for the rec. my setup is:
dart block ( solid deck, no water jacket around cylinder, maybe cause for higher pressure in system?)
t3/t4 turbo running only 10psi
half size civic rad
stock fan
stock thermostat

Re: keep blowing coolant hoses... need help (dartdc97)
i used to blow up stock rad hoses, thats just cause they got so hot they expanded A LOT and eventually busted... aside from that if your blowing coolant lines everywhere perhaps headgasket? thats the only way i can think, like boost is getting into the water... i hope im wrong though...

The Dart block doesn't cause the water jacket pressure to be any higher, at least my Dart block doesn't.
Your radiator cap should be controlling the pressure, if it is defective then the pressure can get too high. Replace the radiator cap.
A leaking head gasket will usually not leak enough to blow your hoses, the radiator cap will relieve the excess pressure by letting letting coolant flow into the overflow tank. Plus your coolant will be noticeably fouled with bits of black crud from the combustion gases, the inside of your overflow tank would be coated with it. Check those things.
A cracked sleeve could do it in a Honda block, but probably not in a Dart block, the sleeves don't touch the water jacket.

good point on the crud being inthe resovoir thing
