Default How do OBD2's w/ hondata get around emissions?

I have a 2001 gsr . I want to go hondata but it requires me to switch to a OBD1 ecu. From my understanding this will not allow me to pass emissions test because they are done by computer? How do I get around this or will it still read as a 2001 gsr and pass?

Any info will help! Thanks

Same with air check Texas. You need to switch back to obd2 ecu when you get inspected. No stand alone will comunicate with the air check computer. Only stock ecu will pass(given no cel's and not more than three "not ready"). Texas emission laws are getting harder .

If I switch out the ecu's will it run like crap? Should I do it at the inspection shop?

it might not run at all, if you're running larger then 310 injectors, you may have to uninstall everything...

I would try it with the OBD1 computer, no it will not hook up to the diagnostic computer, but if you do not have any CELS and pass the rollers/sniffer, I think you'll pass.

Either revert your car back to stock one weekend before getting emissions [hard to do] or find someone you can bribe [harder and more expensive]

I dont know if the emmisions laws are less strict in Canada, but I passed with an OBD1/Hondata setup in a 96 Turbo Teg. Mind you I had the stock exhaust on the car for the test...
