Hondata ECU and Fuel Pump problems, Main Relay
UPDATE: took pics of damaged board see below
The car is a EM1 with s200b, p28 and obd2-1 conversion harness. JRSC, nitrous.
So I'm driving and the motor shuts off out of the blue. After coasting to a stop on the side of the road, I see that my fuel pump is not priming when the key is at IG2 and there is a solid CEL with no code at IG2.
Pushed the car home and did some diagnostics per Helms manual. Fuel pump has power when the Main Relay harness is jumped. Everything clears out, except when I get to the last step when testing the Main Relay--it tells me to measure voltage between ECU connector A16 and B2 when the key is on IG2. The multimeter reads 11.6V when I did this test. Since this is WAY above 1.0V, Helms manual tells me to replace with a known good ECU and recheck. So I plugged in the stock Si P2T ECU, plugged in the Main Relay, put the key on IG2 and that primes the fuel pump. I didn't start the car with the P2T re: 750cc injectors.
I'm thinking bad ECU. I took the ECU to my dealer here to have them take a look. No sign of burning.. He re-flashed it. I plugged it back into the car and it is still having the same issues re: fuel pump will not prime on IG2, solid CEL.
Also, Hondata blue box has no red light when on IG2. The red/black wire from ECU to blue box is secure.
Ideas?

Re: Hondata ECU and Fuel Pump problems, Main Relay (TeH PLAYA)
maybe there is a problem where your ecu was socketed for the hondata? but I think you already found your problem. your ecu took a dump on you

thats exactly whats wrong w/ the ecu. check al the capacitors. look for discoloration on the circuit board, and some stink rotton fish smelling odors fro mthe caps

sure, i'll open the ECU again and take a look. I didn't smell nor see any rotten egg **** from hell discoloration the first time around tho

This time you know where to look.. and look at the back side of the board. Sometimes they don't even hurt the board if you catch them soon enough. And are an easy fix.

Re:
Problem Solved
Hondata blue box went bad. Swapped in another good blue box and everything works.
So either i get a new blue box or upgrade to S300. My dealer will also contact Hondata to see if there's some sort of warranty on their blue boxes. I mean, blue box did fuck up.
Overall, glad to have this solved. Thanks to those who helped

Re: Re: (JRSC01GS-R)
UPDATE: I took pics of the Hondata s200b blue box.. and the following component is BURNT
white arrows pointing to burned component
close-up shot
The under-side of the board is still clean.
Looks like something that can be cut-off and re-soldered with a new one. Can that be fixed? I don't want to have to pay Hondata just for them to diagnose. I know a few people that can solder.
Anyone know what that is? Sorry, I don't know much about specific components of boards.
Also, anyone have an s200 w/boost (blue box only) they are thinking of selling?
