Default hesitation and no power $&#@(

set up

89 civic Si

D16Z6
HOME MADE TURBO
DSM 14B turbo
2.75 inch downpipe
3 inch exhaust
2 inch charge pipe
DSM BOV
2 steps colder plugs and retarded 4 degree timing.
Starion fMIC
file to fit Map limiter chip
DSM 450's

still runnin stock ECU

anyways the car was up and running and running good for a few days. It had a problem with some hesitation and jumpy idle and i found the radiator cap leaking fluids. I filled the radiator back up, capped it, and i shook the DIY maplimiter and the car studdered, so i figured i had a bad connection. I then soldered all the connections and i foudn the car to run a bit lean so i adjusted the map limiter to give in more fuel. It was running great, then later on in the evening my buddy took the car out and foudn the car had even worse hesitation and no power up top.

what could be the culprite??

when the idle was jumpy and the car had some hestitation it still was relaly quick after 4K RPM it just surged n pulled.

but now it doestn do that and it has all the same symptoms.

the cars runnign lean with DSM 450's and file to fits chip. how is that possible?? i Took off the vaccum to the stock FPR to get a lil more fuel pressure but it really ran with no power.

could it be a bad FPR ???

THis will cause a rough idle. The factory FPR lowers fuel pressure at idle, take that off and throw on some 450's and you will be running significantly richer @ idle.

Running too lean robs power. Get a high resolution volt-meter and see how much map sensor voltage the chip is cutting.

my brother is have the same problem with his car (97 civic dx). his got a similiar set up. d16y7, 14b, dsm450, msd6btm, and safc with the hack. he could boost up to 10psi but with no power. he is also eating up coolant. don't know what the problem could be. messing with the fuel setting does not help.
