HELP identify this turbo!!!!
I looked at the rules, and this question doesnt seem to break any.
my friend got this for me for free, it appears to be in good health, and to have only been used slightly... the only question is: WTF is it? he said it **might have** come off of an old probe gt, or a mitsubishi as factory equiptment, but he doesnt know. I figured that there might be some turbo gurus here that could help me out. it does have a garrett tag on it that says:
Made in USA -Garrett
NE2410
10029234
466204-1(last number is hard to decipher)
and oh yes, sorry if I dont know the right terms for the parts, i am an idiot
the turbo housing? (silver colored "snail shaped part")
says AiResearch M 11
now for the pics (sorry about the size, if someone can resize the big ones, i'll delete them from my post)

I is a T25/T28 off of a Nissan Skyline. You can tell because of the wacky-assed 6 bolt outlet.

Re: HELP identify this turbo!!!! (JalopySiR)
Thanks for the link, I looked it up, and it most closely seems related to:
Pontiac
2000 SE 1984 - 85 1.8L I4 P H2O UPGRADE FOR 465853-9001 430425-9042 T2S-KIT 430819-0006 TB0239
466204-0001
1984 - 85 1.8L I4 P 466204-9001 430425-9007 T2S-KIT 430819-0006 TB0205
so its either a TB0239, or a TB0205. both were for a 1.8L 4 cyl, I wonder if it would even be worth having a manifold made to work with this
I was planning on doing a (relatively) low power (170 whp-ish) setup, but i dont know if this turbo will get me there. (I have a NON VVT 2.0L 4 cyl with a redline of 6500, that makes 119whp (power plateaus from 5400rpm-6000, then drops off), and a little over 120tq from 3900 to 4700rpm.
I'd like to be running 7 lbs of boost or less, since factory compression is 10.3:1 and no one really knows how much the motor can take (I have seen dynos of stock internal cars at around 220whp) before this old turbo landed in my lap, I was thinking about a Garrett T-25 with the 40 trim compressor wheel, but honestly, I dont know. lol, I ordered a book (maximum boost) thats supposed to at least give me a better idea of WTF im talking about. any of YOU have ideas on what turbo I should run?
(i'll remove the big pics, since the turbo has been identified)

I'd pick that little guy up off ya for the right price. It would be perfect for my AE86 roadcourse car Don't think its worth much tho. $50-$70 I would think.

Re: HELP identify this turbo!!!! (blown_LS)
It's not a Saab turbo. From the link I have provided it is easy to see that it has a T25 center section. So yes, it is closely related to a Pontiac Sunbird turbo, which I have sitting on top of my TV. The reason it is not on the list is because Skylines never made it to America. Anyway, could you read me the a/rs of both of the housings? They should be printed on the inside of the compressor outlet and on the turbine inlet. This will give me a better idea as to what we are dealing ith in terms of power. Off the bat tho, I am going to have to say this turbo might not be worth your time. A: you are running a Toyota? Do you have access to a manifold with a T25 flange? B: You will NEVER find a 6 bolt T25 turbine outlet flange. C: Most everything will have to be custom done D: T3 and T3/T4 setups are sooooo much easier. If you have any more questions, feel free to PM me.

Re: HELP identify this turbo!!!! (JalopySiR)
I already have the turbine outlet flange. not running a toyota. the number on the inside of the outlet on the compressor housing says .48 I cant find anything on the inlet side (i'll look again later). no access to manifold with T25 flange, however, there are NO manifolds readily available for my car, anything I do will be a custom fab job. Im not looking for alot of boost, (like I said, 170 whp-ish) and I wouldnt mind if power began to drop off after around 5700 rpm or so. The only reason that I was trying to use this was to save some cash, what would a new T3 run as far as price? about $700 or so? I also think that if I bought a new turbo, I'd want to go ahead and get a ball bearing one.
