Default H23 block using H22 Mahle Gold Series Pistons

I plan on boosting my H23 but I don't want to resleeve, so I will give the Mahle Gold Series Pistons a try. Supposedly the FRM sleeving of the H-series block is good up to about 12psi. I will be using the Mahle Gold Series H22 8:9:1 pistons w/ H23 crank and H23 rods. From research it will be out of the deck by about .018 which shouldn't be a problem right and could be cleared up with a thicker HG gasket right? I am new to building motor internals but I am learning!

Also

In the H23 stock bottom end, which is one of the weaker components? Would I be better off doing a OEM rebuild with oem pistons, rings, bearings, and a aftermarket rod? I am looking to boost about 5psi daiy (don't really street rice) and 8-9psi on the track.

Weakest thing in a honda bottom end during boost is the ringlands.

So the question is are the mahles stronger than stock. And I do not have that answer sorry.

I would go with an iron block or a sleeved block.

but a 5psi daily driver doesn't sound to bad on stock internals. It is when you start uping the boost because you can is when you will blow it.

Sleeve it and throw in forged pistons... I'm not a fan of the Mahle's personally.

The only thing different on the H23 piston than the H22 piston is the wrist pin location.... which is .025".

Hey graphiteMW, check this thread out periodically for changes or updates on other folks running mahles https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1406865

Would that difference cause any major problems when the motor is assembled?
