Icon2 GSR turbo- leaking oil into charge piping , have some questions.

So I just installed a turbosetup on my GSR, turbonetics 57 trim. Its a used turbo, but only has liek 500 miles on it. But basically ive put a few hundred miles on it, and now Ive found oil in my charge piping, coming out the BOV, and around the coupling to the throttle body. Im trying to figure out what is wrong, because before I go rebuild my turbo I want to make sure its not something little.

Im runnig a 1/16th oil feed restrictor to the turbo. At idle right when i start the car ( using 10w40 synthetic blend oil) my oil pressure is at 100 psi roughly. At high rpm and hot it goes up close to there, mauybe 90 psi. This seems slightly high. My oil drain line goes stright down from the turbo and then hits a 45 degree angle bend connector, the metal kind, and into the center of the oil pan. also, im not sure but i dont think its leaking oil into the exhaust. also, i made sure that the drain line works by disconnecting it from the pan and briefly turning on the motor. The amount of flow from the feed line is a reasonable trickle/flow.. how fast is the feed oil supposed to be flowing? like is it supposed to squirt out or sort of trickle out slowly?

my questions:

-am i supposed to tap the very top of the pan, or is it ok jsut in the middle?
- i think i might have put too much oil is, 4.5 or 5 quarts, could that cause it?
- my oil is getting drty, its fairly black- could the darkness/dirtyness cause it to start leaking?
-is my oil pressure to high? im thinking about restricting the oil feed adapter a tad more..

thanks for any input... sorry its alot of questions.

i plan on trying to fix it by first changing my oil, maybe making the restrictor a tad smaller, and putting in 3.5 quarts of oil into the motor so maybe it will drain better. ill see how that helps.

Ideally, you want it at the top.

5 qt for the stock oil pan is too much. 4.5 qt most likely is, too. Where is your oil level on the dip stick? Make sure you check it with the car on a level surface after the engine has had time to cool down - majority of oil return to pan.

This happens to oil. Shouldn't be your issue.

What size is your feed line? -3an? -4an? Don't restrict the oil flow too much - it is a journal bearing after all.

my feed line is -3AN i believe. I also double checked my restrictor, and it looks like it may be 2/16ths or somthing. I ordered a 1/16th one however

Drain at the very top of pan.
Gsr just gets 4qts of oil "10-40 is a tad thick stock is 5-30"
Call the turbo manufacturer and ask what they recommend for a restrictor size.

GSR's don't get 4 quarts, they get 4.5 quarts.

just want to follow up on this issue that I had. So i put in the new 1/16th restrictor, put a tad less oil into the car, tapped the oil pan as high as I could, and the turbo is not leaking anymore that I can tell.
