Greddy GSR eats dipsticks
Car: Stock 00 GSR (not mine, PCdc2)
Greddy 18G turbokit installed with the bluebox. Car is pushing somewhere around 6-7psi. It used to spike to all over. Hehe But for the most part, its around 6-7psi.
Car is driven somewhat hard. Recently, the oil was checked, and the dipstick was stuck in the tube. After it was jerked out, the rubber was was gone! And the dipstick was burnt, and burnt crap was still on it. Well the dipstick was replaced, and about a week later he went to the track and made a few passes. Dipstick burnt up again, and smoke was coming out of the dipstick tube.
Im thinking excessive blowby due to compression rings.... but why does it burn up the dipstick? Car is running rich (bluebox), but does it get that hot to burn up dipsticks? Any ideas?

You actually have to bend the dipstick tube towards the cyl. head a little to keep it from rubbing...It tells you that in the instruction manual as well...

Re: Greddy GSR eats dipsticks (raene)
I had the same problem but noticed it was because of my stupidity. The dipstick rubber piece slightly touched the manifold while I was pulling it out and smoked like a ****. I thought I had excessive blowby also but noticed the smoke went away after the melting stopped. Just be careful when you pull the dipstick out while the manifold is still hot.
