the finished turblow d15 project- 56k go make blowoff noises
well, i finally got around to taking a couple pics of my finished turbo d15, i'll follow it up with reposting the exterior/interior pics just so i can have it all in one thread.
the oil tee is just temporary, i'm gonna do a much more professional one minus the jb weld really soon.

yeah i know, im not driving it now (until i fix the oil leak). and about the IAT, i've moved it now, at the time i didn't feel like drilling the intake pipe for it, and i didn't have anywhere to put it on the d16y8 intake manifold. thats where it is now, on the intake piping b4 the throttle body.

i hate to admit it man, but it is true there is only so much u can do with a SOHC 1.6L. the 1.8 dohc will not only give me more torque (displacement), but more accurate tuning having the extra cam to work with. i might just not build it up and only run like 13psi. lot better bang for the buck than building a sohc.

imma D hater jk. but he had a point the dohc u can make soo much more power with just more fine tuning and especially wit cam timing along with boosting

Re: (bruceHungLO)
yup. i originally wanted to do a b-swap, but decided this was pretty cheap ($800), would give me better power than a straight ls swap, and i can sell or reuse all the parts i get, and its easy to install. plus, it at least has reasonable power now, not a 16 second econobox anymore.

I think that you should take some pictures of your EXHAUST LEAK first. My head still hurts from that.

bunch of people have asked me to post pics of the daytime teggie gauges, so i might as well go ahead and post it here:
dont mind the yellowish grainyness, its pollen. yes its that bad here.
plx m300, not quite hardwired lol.
boost gauge- autometer pro comp, and sunpro narrowband a/f gauge so i can know if im rich/lean without having to pay attention to the plx unit.

Re: the finished turblow d15 project- 56k go make blowoff noises (Fujimi-R_DC2)
whats ghetto about it man? besides the oil tee which is fixed now with real fittings and pipe dope.
btw total cost for the turbo setup was $543 in case you're wondering. runs like a dream, has been for the last month or so. tuned and dialed in.

lots of curses and cutting. lol.
i just cut the top part of the cover piece and cut it to match up with my space under the dash, made custom brackets to hold it where i want it, and bent my own piece of acrylic to make the plastic cover. took lots of work and frustration.
