Edelbrock Performer X Turbo System

Edelbrock Performer X Turbo System
So what do you think? Is it another domestic part company's bad stab at the import market, or is it a reasonable product? Is the T28 more laggy than greddy's
TD04H-15G? True the Edelbrock is as complete of a kit that is around, but the Greddy (in some circles) is the best streetable kit. I am a sohc guy in the market, and just wondering.

Its a SWEEEET kit! The turbo is a killer size for the engine, and there isn't much lag with that size turbo and the D16 motor.
I think this kit will blow everything on the market....NO tuning required, pre-programed add-on ECU and the extra injectors in the manifold!

Re: Edelbrock Performer X Turbo System (KillBot)
The T28 used in this kit is very similar to the Silvia T28. They will provide great spool and nice top end on a SOHC. The turbo can easily support 260-280 whp and will not die up top. Seems like a nice setup.

just wait till we se the price tag.. I am thinking high 3s. Which is rediculous i think.
From what I hear, sounds like a lot of people can't wait to jump on this kit when it hits the shelves!

Re: Edelbrock Performer X Turbo System (Marauder)
For sure, I though MSRP was supposed to be about $3500 but who knows. Considering that it comes with an intake manifold and probably excellent fuel management compared to an FMU, I think this will be a kick *** turbo setup, although it won't be the fastest drag race monster around. Edelbrock is great, I've never known them to make anything that wasn't excellent.

If you're gonna spend 3500+ on a turbo kit, might as well go Fmax or Revhard with an even bigger turbo???

Besides, the edelbrock kit is rated at 170whp @ about 6-7psi on a d16y8. Quite impressive setup. Not to mention that the intake manifold comes with 4 additional injectors. The fuel management is not a piggy back. It is a standalone unit that detects boost and drives the 4 additional injectors accordingly.

Re: Edelbrock Performer X Turbo System (Sears_Build)
I would seriously look at the Edelbrock kit before the A'PEXi kit. For maybe $2900-3500 (I'm assuming the price varies a lot), you get the A'PEXi kit and an intercooler but no fuel management. That's extra. The Edelbrock includes everything from fuel management to an intercooler to even a new intake manifold. like everyone else said, it's one of the most complete kits available (or soon to be available). I'm just waiting to see what they decide on pricing.

http://www.edelbrock.com/automotive/...bocharger.html Damn, Street legal too??? Seems too good to be true. I didn't see anything about the DOHC engines but does anyone know if they are planning to do one for the B-Series?

When I talked to the guy over there....he said they will be working on a B-series kit next. It sounds like they are unsure which car their B-series will fit....but I think whichever car it fits, those owners will be very happy!
