Re: ebay turbo kit??
IMHO.. i wouldn't risk it.. sure you can cheap out and use some pieces from the kit.. like intercooler piping.. intercooler, couplers, etc.. but as far as turbo's, manifolds, wastegates, blow off valve.. I would not use ebay quality.. Like already stated.. it's hit or miss.
Save up some money and do it right.. i bought a used drag 3 kit for 1200 bucks..

Just piece one together from used parts. It will be cheaper in the long run. You will have to replace some of the parts of the ebay kit after they break on you, that is if your engine doesn't get effed first...

If you don't mind possibly rebuilding a motor and buying a new turbo kit when it blows apart. Go ahead and give it a shot, hope you get lucky. If I was you, i wouldn't risk it.

Re: ebay turbo kit??
some of the parts as listed above are ok to use. as far as using an ebay turbo? idk. there is a thread in the forced induction forum about ebay turbo kits. also search it. there are alot of people that have had great luck with them. others not so lucky. i guess you definately want to stay away from the ssautochrome kits. they don't use weld to assemble their parts on the turbo itself. its an apoxy, when heated up becomes brittle, and can shatter over time. which i think might be an issue with all ebay turbos? idk. search garrett t3/t4 on ebay, sometimes you can get a good deal. look in the marketplace here. a friend of mine just bought a garrett t3/t4 with blue top injectors and a resistor box for 200 bucks. intercooler kits on ebay are around 150 or so. so for 350 bucks you can have a decent set up i would think. here check this out http://www.hondamarketplace.com/forumdisplay.php?f=39

Re: ebay turbo kit??
Word?? Idk if anyone should use a used condom To each his own i guess..
Back on topic, x2 on patience. Don't buy an Ebay turbo kit, save yourself a headache and get it done right the first time. You will be fine using an intercooler off egay but stay away from those SSAC mani's etc.
I coulda swore this has been covered almost a million times

Re: ebay turbo kit??
honestly i don't think going cheap on anything as far as a motor or cars go isnt a good idea. Although i have four friends who have ebay turbo kits with hks, greddy, or hondata (recomended) engine management systems and they are doing great and no problems at all. I personally would wait but that is just me.... but like everyone is saying it is a hit a miss... but i have also seen garrett turbos blow with like 700mi on them so its just one of those things...

Re: ebay turbo kit??
I've had several friends use ebay kits on thier cars and they have had no problems at all. The only time I've ever heard of any problems with them is when jackasses turn the boost way up to the point that the parts just cant handle it. Overall bang for the buck ebay kits are not that bad. I say go for it, especially if you are only gonna use like 7psi. A good word of advice though would be to definatly be to have some sort of fuel controller/engine management. Also a wide-band o2 gauge is a good idea.

then u can not beat a $600 dallor turbo kit
(just make sure u pick one with a cast manifold)
spend the money u save on a good tuner and fuel managment!!!
