Default eaton or toyota supercharger in AC spot

has anyone mounted a supercharger where the AC compressor goes on b series motor

i have a b16 and an sc-12 supercharger and acess to a machine shop

is it possible to mount an intercooled sc-12 to the ac spot
it spins correct direction and has a clutch which can be controlled by ac button to disingage the sc at any time

and if not then i d really like to mount an eaton supercharger also intercooled to that spot if possible.

i can make brackets and piping to fit just wondering if anyone done it

what would be the biggest spuercharger i can put there for a gsr motor that is built for boost already.
or a stock gsr with arp rod/main and head bolts stock compression and pro1 cams

I have personally build 2 d16s with SC14 and it was relatively easy.

I run the throttle body in stock location. and treat the s/c like a turbo.

Run a intercooler after the s/c and blow off valve in in between s/c and tb, I run mine before intercooler.

SC12 will work for your b16 but avoid running the s/c past 11k revs @ 1.8 max. PR.

http://www.ogura-clutch.com/products...egory=3&sort=1
Look at the PDF for TX12 in the above link.

I use the TX15 (SC14) b/c it has an A/C style clutch and I can turn it on and off using the A/C switch on the dash.

It is very easy yo build a one of these kits for less than $1K if you are resourceful and have some fab skills.

Build thread is here http://www.realhomemadeturbo.com/for...pic,651.0.html

It also includes the Twincharge setup, I will be updating the thread soon with a new turbo manifold, meth/water injection, radiator tuck, new bov, and few other things.

This guy knows about the superchargers. They don't put down the highest numbers, but they seem effective for what they are.

The most expensive part is locating a SC14, usually find on ebay for $250 or more, look up Previa Supercharger.
Or look on car-parts.com www.car-part.com look under '96-'97 Toyota Previa make sure you get the manifolds with it, makes things easier.

For the lower bracket I use a slightly modified d-series alternator bracket and for the upper the bracket that ties the IM to the block for the d-series.

The I use the stock A/C tensioner tension and a ~100mm dia. pulley with bushing from dayco and gates. (I'll post up the p/n) when I update my build thread on RHMT.

I mount the s/c with the dipstick down and flip the manifolds that come with the s/c then cut the excess piping off and weld on some IC piping (what size you desire), I recommend 3" or larger on the inlet side.

Keep in mind these s/c can run CW or CCW.

IF you have a/c already in your car and you pull the a/c out you can use the wiring to active the clutch on s/c using the same wire used to switch on the clutch on the original a/c compressor.
Then you can use the a/c switch on dash to activate the s/c.

Make sure you jumper the plug for the thermal switch that went to the back of the original a/c. If you pulled the a/c thermostat(I think that is what it is called) under the dash jumper the plug there too.

Then after all that then you run the s/c outlet to an intercooler like you normally do with turbo, make sure you use a BOV to relieve pressure.

I first used an edelbrock intercooler, but it was a little too long, I would recommend a little short in length to make thing easier.

No need to use a valve to switch n/a to SC and back, if the TB is at the intake manifold and SC and IC are all before.

With the SC14 and some SC12 they come with clutches and they are the standard close tolerance 2 lobe roots style compressors. They will just free wheel when clutch is dis engaged.

As for the pictures look at the link I posted earlier in this thread.

I like the idea of the clutch type unit. OP im running a Pro Charger kit made for the B series heres my build thread, It mounts on the side under the oil pump and can be used with AC and PS and FMIC. And its carb legal On my last setup i made 275 WHP and 191 TQ @ 6psi on a mild Type R. Its pretty effieciant.

I have a spare main bracket i could lone ya, it wouldnt be much hard at all to peice together a used blower you could use to mount to the main bracket, Replicate the bracket and send it back. I have a guy working on a desigh to use the KW SC to mount to this bracket to use AC and PS.

OT but

I spent some time in Wyoming when I was younger (96-98). Went to the 100th anniversary of The Cheyenne Fronteir Days, had to go on a cattle drive that took a couple of weeks which included: a horse getting struck by lightning, a bear ripping my tent apart (which I apparently slept through) and trashing part of our camp, shooting very very big guns, and other epic events.

By then I could even drive a manual. When we got out in the middle of nowhere dad let me drive. Keep in mind this was a 1000lbft cummins 3500 dually pulling our 40+ foot horse trailer (10 horses + 30ft living quarters with slideouts) I could even back into Parking spaces on my own. To give you an idea by 14 I was riding sport bikes on the street with my dad lol.

I honestly miss things like that. We did the drive old school. Horseback and had a chuck wagon follow us. No electricity, nothing modern. We would pitch camp wherever, cook seriously amazing food, and just chill under the vast Wyoming night sky (so many stars since there's 0 light pollution). I need to come back one day

That is why I still live in Wyo. spent most of my childhood in Europe and when in the states lived on many different Army posts and did not like being around a tonne of people.

Looking to buy at least 10acres outside of Casper to build a house and enjoy the quit night sky.
