Default down pipe gasket?

is a down pipe gasket really vital? some say yes others no? who uses one and why? who doesnt use one and why?

you mean the gasket connecting the turbo to the dp? i dont have one . i couldnt even find one that would work . i dont have any leaks.

its said that carbon deposits will seal it right up. I dont have one here (but i am missing a dp bolt ) and no leaks

I dont have one either but if you wanted to be safe you could use some of that red, high temp liquid gasket.
