Default Does this catchcan / crankcase vent setup for H22 make sense?

I met this guy today with a turbo H22 also and I asked to see his setup - first thing I noticed was an odd catchcan / crankcase vent setup he had!

Ok, I did not take a pic but I will explain - he had two big AN fittings with steel hoses on the FRONT of the valve cover and they ran to a Greddy type catchcan. Then he had the PCV outlet fitted with an AN fitting and ran that to another small catchcan! Both cans had a filter on top and he also told me that he had a "drain hose" close to the bottom of each catch can that went to the back of the oil pan's shallow end so the oil did not just sit in the can if any came out! Wow - I never seen a boosted H22 with this sort of setup...

Do you guys think it makes sense? Oddly, he said his exhaust got a little quieter after installing the whole setup... wierd....

I wanna do this if anyone with some knowledge of this thinks this will work!

Hey I have been looking into this too cos I have read on various forums that this is how the T1 Catchcan works ie. two fittings on back, two on front and a drainback to the back of the oil pan. I assume the oil pan needs some sort of barb or bung fitting installed so you can run the hose down there... well at least for an H22 since they are different compared to b-series ...

I was thinking of doing my set up this way. 2 fittings on the back & 2 on the front, run all 4 hoses to a catch can w/ 3 air filters. Rosko racing sells a pcv blockoff, cap off the intake mani hole. Not running anything back to the oil pan. On the bottom of the can have a release valve to drain it. Does this sound good or stupid?
