Default could i be running too rich FPR@60psi at idle? drowing motor? turbo gurus help!!!!

ok as you all know its been a headache with this turbo, heres the deal the car bogs sometimes and smoke comes out of the exhaust and smells like gasoline. my fuel set up. walbro intank 255lhp pump, b&M FRP, vortech FMU and stock injectors, stock p72 ecu. i pulled the plugs today and it was black as hell, it was actually soaked w/ gasoline. now i check my fuel pressure gauge and it was at 60psi at idle. i tried adjusting it but it wont go lower than 60. i will put a stock one this weekend, what psi should it idle at?

first i though it was a headgasket but the car doesnt overheat, no oil in the coolant and no coolant in the oil.
if my piston rings are bad or the valve seals are bad wouldnt there be oil in the spark plugs and my idle would fluctuate? i havent check compression.

my car idles perfect, no vacum leak or anything, i have CEL 23(knock) coz im runnng a p72 w/ my b16a

help!!!!!!

With the 255lph pump you wont be able to lower your fuel pressure without replacing your fpr with an aftermarket one like the AEM. The stock fpr just wont flow enough fuel. Also what fmu plate are you running?

yo i have almost the some setup except i have rc 310's with my **** on a 98 gsr, in a 93 hatch, i mean i had a b&m FPR its the biggest rip off piece of ****!!!! your static fueal pressure should be between 38psi and 42psi,,,, i got a holley FPR and it fixed everything,, also what disk in the fmu do you have?? it could be the fmu too, they suck as well,, you have to get the fp down from 60 though i fucked up my rc 310's by having the fuel pressure at like 60 psi for only a month or two,,,, if your funning 60psi at idle imagine what the pressure is at like 6psi boost (depending on what disc you have in the fmu) but i hear that you can also harm your injector drivers with too much fuel pressure,,,, so let me know......

im running vortech 12.1 fmu

my friend has the same turbo(ls) set up, vortech 12.1 fmu, holley 255lhp inline pump, stock 95 ex fuel pump, stock injectors and stock b18b fuel pressure regulator and his car seems to be ok. and pulls really hard and fast.

could i be running too rich, will putting a stock FPR solve this?

dude the stock FPR will flow enough fuel and i t will keep your fuel pressure at a perfect 40 psi,,,thats why hondata tuners usually tune with a stock fpr,,,its mad accurate,,,,, and anyway when the car is in boost the fmu over-rides the FPR no matter what brand it is,, and boost the fuel presure,,,, thats why the whole fmu missing link thing sucks,,, its not accurate nor is it good for your injectors,,, also think about the pressure in the fuel lines the fmu creates?? a whole lot

Default fuel pressure

yo the stock fpr shoulf solve your problem,,, however you just need to be between 38 and 42 psi at idle,,,, i got the holley one and the **** is , i think, the best one,, its mad easy to adjust and its accurate as hell,,,, but i have to dump all that **** cause i got a Hondata 2b,,,, so oh well good luck tuning!!!!!oh yeah if you have a deltagate dump that **** too!! i just got my TIAL and it is like night and day with the Deltagate, no creep no spike,,, to the people at TIAL for making a quality product

http://www.theoldone.com/articles/regulator/

check out that article. And no the stock fpr wont flow enough fuel to lower the static fuel pressure even with a B&M added on the top, if your running a 255lph pump. My car was stuck at 54psi. I tried the stock fpr, i tried the b&m modified fpr. The fuel pressure will not go down! I bought an aem fpr and fixed my problem.
