Damn. I should have noticed that by the heat shield... Sorry man. That sucks. The fins are just too damaged.

there is pretty much no shaft play in it and its spins nicely too. What would I be looking at if I were to use it? No boost? Lots of lag?

Just flat out don't use it. The turbines inducer is F'ed. If you use it, we'll slap you.

yeah dont do it what are you thinking? just another oppertunity to UPGRADE! if it keeps chipping off and sends pieces of metal into your engine that would suck.

Yah.. those turbine pieces will fall into the exhaust and go through the engine.... sigh
I'm in a similar situation... have a gt2871 with damage similar to it, no real shaft play and spins smoothly. Its on the car and I've hit/held 10psi briefly. I have other things to debug on the car currently though... so I haven't pushed it any further.
I've been told to talk to a specific shop for BB turbo repairs/rebuilds etc...
"Contact Limit Engineering in AZ about a rebuilt. (928) 453-7321. Talk to Chopper. "
No experience with them though, but recommended by a representative of Bell Engineering (BEGI, aka Corky Bell).
Pic of mine for reference

Re: (JDM_Acccord)
That turbo put down 507WHP and ran a 10.82 on 23psi...
I sold the turbo to him not knowing it was fucked up (i bought it off a dsm guy that ran 9.41 with it)... i'm in the process of saving up money to pay him back so he can send it back to me since i am an honest guy.
I sold it to get a t67h.o and shoot for 9's

Re: (slow96coupe)
Slow96coupe did sell me the turbo. I didnt mention anything about that only because I wanted to get other opinions and maybe I would decide to keep it if the damage is not all that bad. We have been in touch since day one so there are no problems there.

Re: (champLSinteg)
It's fucked but I would run it until a better option came up. You're going to have to replace everything except the housings anyway so as long as the turbine housing doesn't get destroyed, what damage can you really do?
