Calibration of Autometer Boost Gauge
Hey guys, I wondering if there a way to Calibrate my autometer (be gentle) boost gauge. When the car is off, the needle does not read "0" its a tad in Vac, not much to really notice unless you look at it. I was just wondering if the is possible and if so how. Thanks

AM, and every other gauge i've noticed have no means of user calibration. They should be calibrated upon leaving the factory, if it's not reading '0' when off, then you've just got a slightly miscalibrated unit and you'll have to send it back for work or learn to live w/ it if it's not off by alot..

Re: Calibration of Autometer Boost Gauge (VTC_boost-less_CiViC)
yeah true, I didnt think so, Ill see if I can get a picture. When its at Zero (on the Autometer) its a [] square, my needle is a drop off the left of the square, ever so slightly in VAC. I guess I'll add a .25 correct when Im boosting or something.

Mine used to sit near the boost side of the box when off:
Now(like 2+ yrs later) it sits closer to the vac side, but it's still in the box.

mine pointed to the left edge of the box since the day i got it...until it was heartlessly ripped from my vehicle by some assclowns.
yes, i am still bitter.
mechanical gauges sell that gauge and order another. they're cheap.

Yeah it's possible to check the calibration. All you need is a vacuum source (aspirator or vacuum cleaner?), pressure source (compressor) , gauge and needle valve.

I think that this is one of the reason so many people talk bad about the Autometer line. Personally i ran all autometer stuff in my 66 mustang (351 ) and didnt have any problems. Oh well, i run all greddy gauges and components now.
