I dont think there really is any right or wrong with oil, it seems that people have good luck with all sorts of different oil, change intervals, weights, etc. It really comes down to with what you feel confident with in your setup.

I switch on and off between Mobil 1 10w30 and Castrol Syntec 10w30 w/ Mobil 1 oil filter or Pure One filter.

I will be using syntec 10w-30, I looked at the specs for both a while back and it looked as though syntec was just a wee bit better. Royal purple and amsoil are very good as well. I would feel fine running any one of those four.

Interesting that you would use a 20w-50 rather than a 10w-30. Any reason why??

I would really like to see some hard evidence on why one weight oil is better than another in a turbo honda, some long term tests and super accurate oil press. readings would be good to see, cuz Im not sure why most people run 10w-30 and higher when honda says use 5w-30 I know we will prolly never see a test like that Im just saying, it would be good to see.

yea, but the oil rating is targeting the motor isn't it?

Yes, but I somehow doubt the Honda engineers formulated oil for a stock Honda engine that revs to 9k and puts out 2-3 times the hp it was designed to. What he meant is that with a boosted engine you will likely be revin' it higher and have MUCH more load on the engine than if it were kept stock (n/a). This equates to more heat and the necessity for more cooling as a result. Also the addition of a wg/manifold/turbo which for all intents and purposes are big a$$ heat sinks that inundate the engine bay with radiated heat, adds to the issue.

Also earlier when I said that syntec was a bit better I never said a bit better than what......I was referring to mobil 1.
