BDL Throttle body issue on my turbo build.
I have a brand new BDL throttle body on my GSR engine. When installed, correctly, and the throttle cable tension is adjusted properly.. on a full sweep with the accelerator, all i get is 80 throttle. It does not get all the way open and using all my cable. Is the damn throttle cable puley on the body too large of a sweep/pull?

Re: BDL Throttle body issue on my turbo build.
my idea only really works if what im thinking is happening actually is. and if you have your cable on the notch for the butterfly towards the top of the throttle body...just disreguard what im about to say. but if you have it on the lower provision...you might want to look into a different throttle cable/bracket. i ran into the same thing with my blox unit. but i had to change brackets and put it on the top hole so it would open completely. hope this helps.

I have a BDL 72mm throttle body and it seems to "stick" while driving. While the car is cold its ok but it seems to do this as soon as the engine comes to temperature. I'm a noob so any help would be appreciated.

i had the same problem on a ericks racing tb. just make sure the plate/butterfly is perfectly centered, you also might need to take it apart and clean the junk out where the bearings sit. i finally said screw it and took it all apart and get a barrel sander and cleaned it up a bit, dosnt stick anymore and still idles at 800rpm with 1600cc injectors.
be sure to use loctite when putting the butterfly screws back in

I had this problem with my 76mm RPM TB. It was the distance of the cable bracket from the pulley. You can hold the cable by hand and have someone press the throttle and you will see where its needed to achieve the full sweep. I couldnt move my cable bracket so I ended up sliding the cable past the adjust spot on the threads. Hard to explain without pics but I think you'll see what I mean when you do the test.

exactly, if you do this but do not disassemble, just make sure you blow the throttle body out good. i think all the tb's are made in the same place and never not stick. ive had two brand new ones now and they both stick, bdl and ericks. on the bdl, it just took some scotch brite...a lot of scotch brite to not stick. on the ericks, it needed a little more.

i got the bdl 70mm and was sticking too.the throttle plate inside wasnt centered when they drilled the holes i removed the screws and opened the holes allittle i mean alittle and reloctited the screws and its perfect.i did have to make a throttle cable bracket to make it work correctly too.
