B20Z/VTEC TURBO SETUP
I have a B20z block that I am building,
B20Z block
Darton sleeves
eagle rods
84mm JE pistons
B16 head
skunk2 valve train
skunk2 cams/gears
T3/T4 Turbo
ect...
Im shooting for as much HP as I can get. I plan on running at least 25-30psi of boost. Iv'e seen alot of people do LS/VTEC and get good numbers. The only thing im worried about is the bore and chamber diffrence from the block to the head. The LS block and b16/gsr all have a 81mm bore and chamber. But the B20 block has 84mm bore. Would the B16 head with a 81mm chamber on a B20 block with a 84mm bore hold up good and give me the same power as if was using a LS block? Or would it hold be back and dissapoint me. I was really wanting to do the B20 block because u dont see as many of them as u do LS block's. Any info would be helpfull.
Thanks.

Re: B20Z/VTEC TURBO SETUP
Thats the answer I was lookin for, thanks.
Anyone with a setup like this? Just wanting to see what kind of numbers I can expect and how everthing worked out. I've had single cam's and a couple of LS swaped civic's, but this is the first B20.

what turbo are you using? i would definitely not look at psi though, some turbos can't even handle that high without extreme spikes in temperature.

hey man you should put out pretty good numbers. I have a b20 vtec turbo. i have the b20b block for the lower compression as i have a stock bottom end on stock sleeves.... so its a stock b20b block with a b16 head. the head is also stock except for supertech valve springs and retainers with stock b16 cams. Eldebrock victor x manifold. ebay turbo set up 50 trim. I was dynoed about a week ago and i made 303whp and 221 tq on 11psi

Re: B20Z/VTEC TURBO SETUP
Im thinking about going with a Precision SC6052R turbo but still lookin around.
Thats good numbers on a stock b20 block. Im aiming for the 600whp mark. Dont know if ill hit it or not but sure am gonna try. I got a few buddies with boosted D-series motor's talkin **** bout the B-series, so I gota show em up. Dont get me wrong, I've seen D-series motor's put out alot of power and I got alot of respect for the single cam's, I just prefer a B-series swap.
