b16 turbo adapter question...t3/t4 to t4 mani
i have a to4e manifold the problem is i happen to buy a t3/t4 turbo.
will i get the performance if i get an adapter for a t3/t4 turbo to a t4 manifold.
or is there a reason to just buy a t3/t4 manifold.

t04e is a type of Turbo.
If you have a t4 FLANGE on your manifold, buy a t4 turbo.. simple as that... I wish I had a t4 flange on my ramhorn..
many people run adapters without issue.

t4 manifold to t3 turbo shouldn't be a problem, but t3 manifold to t4 turbo would work too, but in higher boost pressures, would be restrictive in my opinion.

the thing is, is that i have a stock b16 running @ 7psi..would i even be able to make boost if i got that adapter. or should i just invest in a new manifold? the manifold i bought is $1200 and i think its overkill but it was to good of a deal to pass up, its a t4 flange and has 2 tial 38mm vband wastegates

Re: b16 turbo adapter question...t3/t4 to t4 mani
2 ways you can do that without buying that nonsense, that could possibly put the turbo at a lower position, change the position of the return line and cause problems.
1)You can simply drill and tap the T3 flange bolts into the T4 flange, use your Gasket and place your T3 on it. This has been done before
Look at the measurements between the T3 and T4 flanges. You can actually overlay it so that the bolt holes are in different positions. With T4 divided, its even easier. PLUS the opening of the turbine inlet is still large enough to not cause interference.
T3 Flange
T4 flange
2) Get a good welder and weld an actual T3 weld flange to the T4 and redrill through the flange to fit. It won't put such a change to the return line causing any potential damage.
Just.... Don't buy that damned thing on eBay if you don't have to for say, a Cast T4 manifold.

they make an adapter flange that is no thicker than a normal flange... has countersunk holes for mounting the turbo to the adapter, then it just bolts to the manifold...

Re: b16 turbo adapter question...t3/t4 to t4 mani
is your manifold divided?
Divided adapter (divided manifold to divided turbine housing) will work on an open turbine housing inlet just fine

so if you have a divided t4 manifold then you need t4 divided to t3 (open or divided)
The different divided styles depend on if the flange on your manifold had threaded holes or no threads. Also depends on if your turbine housing is threaded or not (some are, some aren't)
But what I posted above should point you in the right direction and to give you a clue of what you need.
what kind of manifold did you get, topmount? a divided t4 topmount with a run of the mill t3/t04e on a stock b16 is going to be the laggiest turbo setup known to man, especially at 7psi. That isn't even on the efficient part of the map
You might want to reconsider your entire setup, sell that manifold and wastegates and use the money for parts that are more suited to your build, and please don't give me that "it looks cool ****" because it can make even the smallest, most responsive turbo behave like ****
