AFC Hack General Summary
I've been researching the AFC hack deal.
This is what I have got from it.
The hack is not actually a hack install (ie: splicing non recommended wiring etc).
You just simply install the AFC just as per Apex install directions. However the hack comes into play as larger injectors are installed (Most popular DSM 450's). Then you lean out the fuel on the AFC thus making it trick the ECU to shorten the plus width of the injectors. This on stock injectors would result in a lean condition, But with the larger injectors the shorter pluse and duty cycle width with the larger injectors enable more fuel to be released, hence the AFC hack (which don't seem so complicated any more).
Now from what I've read I won't find a high differance if my FMU set up is working good but its less strain on my fuel system ie injector duty cycle and fuel rail pressure. But I will beable to get rid of the fmu and check valves for good and put more tunning possibilities in my hands.
I don't quite get though how the AFC controls the MAP sensor voltage? Does the AFC splice directly into the MAP sensor wires to manipulate the voltages?
Also how do I connect it to my O2 sensor to monitor voltage?
Hondata tuning in my area is not a reality so I figure and AFC on my sohc vtec for 10 psi will be decent with giving me more tuning possibility than with the damn FMU.
And I"ve also checked out these:

Is there anything I'm missing here?

Re: AFC Hack General Summary (On Point EK)
Well what I've summarized above is my take on it. It don't seem so complicated, but maybe tuning is a different story.
Are there any AFC Hack guru's that can add to this?

Re: AFC Hack General Summary (Hybrid)
You seem to have a good grasp of it. It manipulates the map voltage because your settings are somewhere around -45%. The AFC tricks the computer by lowering the map voltage so it will give less fuel. That is how it normally works, it just happens to let you boost about 11psi when you use 450cc injectors.
As for tuning, you can do quite a bit with it. Obviously you can change your fuel percentages at different RPMs in case you are leaning out in some areas. The only problem is timing. You will run too much advance using the hack. You can either run it rich to compensate, dial the static timing back 2-4 degrees, or even better, get an MSD BTM to take timing out.
