What happens when my closed loop is disabled?
hey Im looking into getting a quick BIN file so I drive my car. I found one map, but it says the closed loop is disable. How will this affect my car?

If i remember right. Closed loop is for cold start, then it goes into open loop once warmed up. So, if you live in a colder climate might be a pain. Not 100 percent sure thoguh.

Closed loop means that the ecu is correcting/adjusting fuelvalues(injector duration) up to the stoichiometric ratio 14.7:1 or lambda 1 with by trying to keep the voltage around 0,6v signals from the narrowband lambda sensor.
The normal range of a lambda sensor is from 0.2V to 1.2V

I have a friend who has everything, he said all I need to do it get whatever BIN I want and put it on my USB drive and he'll write and burn the chip for me. Im not too sure what he's using, perhaps Turboedit.

Wow, another incredibly informative post from you. You need to do some more research on this stuff before you as these random questions......seriously. If I remember correctly (and I probably don't because I don't have an obd0 car) turboedit and bre are two of the most commonly used obd0 tuning programs. Do you even know if your car is obd0? You should read a bit more then after you have figured out exactly what you want to know ask the question while providing enough information for someone to give you a solid respose.
And if you are just needing a basemap to get to your tuner, then you should ask him for one or find someone who knows exactly what they are doing and have them make you one. You do not seem to have enough knowledge to ensure the safety of your engine while running this map. Just a suggestion.

Ok man clearly I said in this post, "I found one map, but it says the closed loop is disable. How will this affect my car?" Oh yea and by the way the car is OBDII converted to OBD I. This is a simple question needing a simple answer.

You could deduce the answer for yourself from the information given above if you chose to. I guess you want others to think for you.
Closed loop = the ECU looks to the 02 sensor to check the mixture and makes corrections based on that. Open loop = the ECU doesn't care what the 02 sensor is telling it and runs straight off the fuel table. IF you can't figure out how this affects your vehicle then you should pay a professional to set up your ECU, as you have no business messing with any of it (even though you claim that it is 'simple').

wrong cold start closeloop is disable. Once warmed up the closelopp is enable and the car swtiches to openloop @ full throttle.
