Now that i have your attention, i called honda and the guy couldn't figure out what i was talking about so i need a part number from you guys. On the h22 cylinder head there is a washer beneath the cam rails and cam caps. It is directly in the middle or the middle cam cap. I tried finding a helms diagram but could not find one. Does anybody know what i am talking about? It is a washer (that is what the machine shop told me) that goes in a oil galley space. It is the ONLY part remaining until i can start motor assembly, i ordered the rest today :)

I apologize for posting this in the Tech area, but thought the H22 people could help better. After rebuilding my bottom end in the spring, I developed runability issues. I found several broken valve keepers, so I pulled the head to have better access to removing the valves. When I got the head off, I noticed the head gasket was soaked with oil on both sides. I used a multi-layer Cometic gasket and ARP head studs. I torqued everything in sequence and used the recommended 80ft/lbs from ARP. I noticed there were oil leaks and they seemed to be getting worse, but thought it was bad cam seals since you could clearly see it leaking from there. What would cause the head gasket to be covered in oil or leak so badly? The bottom end was decked and the head checked for straightness. Could it be the dowel pins, or maybe the wrong gasket?

I am finally getting around to getting my 97 Prelude fixed after the crank pulley became loose. First it seems as though the pulley was never fully seated on the crank as there is about a half inch of play with it and the bolt will screw in about a half inch as well, but when trying to remove it it will stop at the same point each time. We are going to try using a larger imapac gun on it tonight, but I was wondering if anyone had any other ideas on how to get this bolt out.
Thanks

I've been having a small amount of water underneath the driver seat after hard rainfall. I noticed I had a chunk of my exterior window seal missing and was thinking I was getting water leaking in through the door somehow. Anyone have experience with this seal going bad, and if so did it cause a interior cab leak? Here's a picture of the seal I'm talking about, but on the driver side.

Hey Guys,

Ive been having a weird problem lately. I searched but couldnt find exactly what Im looking for. OK so, I noticed this while driving today. While shifting my dash lights would actually get brighter. Also, while idling and I try to roll the windows up or down, my RPMs drop to about 4-500, and if I try to do both windows at the same time, they start to crawl and the whole car kinda shakes, and the rpms drop real low.:thud: I havent done any test on the car yet. It drives and no codes come up or anything. I figure Id ask here before taking things apart again lol. Thanks guys :D

Hi Guys,

I have a 97 Honda prelude and I have a CEL. I hooked it up to get the code and the its system too rich, cyl 2 misfire, and fuel trim bank 1. I cleaned the maf, changed the plugs/wires, distributor, and IAC. The problem still occurs. I smell a lot of fuel, the idle is rough at start, when coming in to a stop the rpm drops normally then the car just shuts off. Anyone with any idea will be great. Thank you.
