here's the skinny. my last head was oil starved and couldn't figure out why. so i bought another DOHC ZC head and a set of Exospeed stage 3 cams. i send out my head to be hot tank, bead blast, valves regrind, valve seats regring, decked. now as i was placing everything on the table to be assemble i notice that 8 of my springs were a brass color and the other 8 were black(they are OEM springs).

as i squeeze the black springs it feels stiffer. rule of the thumb anything black will be ext and any other color is int. now as i spoke with b motor ppl they tell me quite the opposite the use the stiffer spring on the int.

so can some one please tell me what's what.

also on my last ZC head rebuild the springs were the same color. and the service manaul doesn't says anything on this topic..

thank

I need to figure out the wiring now.

I have a picture of where wires SHOULD go, but I had heard awhile ago someone had translated an EF8 service manual into english and it was downloadable. I have been searching like crazy with no luck.

I do have a friend in japan that is also trying to find me one, but until then I am looking for the downloadable version.
I found one that I think is pretty decent for a decent price, but would like you guys take on it. What's some things to keep an eye out for on these lovely old ladies as far as common issues? I would assume the suspension if not replaced would have almost had it.

Appreciate the input and details to follow on prospective rex.

I'm going to pick up this beauty tomorrow and me and my buddy plan to use it as a track car. Its not the prettiest Crx ever but will get the job done.

The guy I'm getting it from, said his brother ran it low on oil and the cam locked up. So I assume it bent some valves and needs a new head? Or what else could of happened?

It has the stock d16a6 motor and trans. We plan on picking up a turbo kit cheap and have it ready for the track in the spring for less then $500 total investment. The driver quarter panel is glazed coated and just needs sanded.

Btw it has a clean title! Any feedback is appreciated.

I just got back from the junk yard and found about 5 untouched D16A1's and D15B7's. My question is can I use any of the parts from either of these engines to swap my D15B2 to MPFI or do I have to find the parts from a D16A6, cause that's all I see in the write ups? Also can I use any resistor box or does it have to be from an A6? One more question, is the cam from the D15B7 more aggresive than the B2's and is it worth dropping in? Thanks guys, all help is extremely appreciated.

I have a 1989 Honda CRX HF project that I'm trying to get done. When I bought the car, the person that had it had rigged the blower motor to a toggle switch hooked directly to the battery and the fan itself. i replaced the wires that were cut and plugged them back into the fan, go to turn on the fan and nothing. I'm wondering if I'm missing a ground, or something else?????
I did replace the motor resistor which did not change the situation.
Any ideas or any directions on how to find out?
