Well I got my swap in and running finally and this is the first Mini-Me I have ever built !It's a Y8 block with a Z6 head... I bought an obd0 to obd1 jumper harness with the vtec sub-harness, have the 4-wire o2 wired up on a P28 everything seems to be hooked up correct and it will not hit vtec at all. Everyone is telling me to wire it to a switch but i'm not even trying to do that this is my D.D. and i would like it to work correct !! ALSO it will not run right with the obd1 MAP sensor so I have it running on the obd0 MAP sensor for now and it run great but when i plug up the obd1 MAP it cuts out at low RPMs like under 3000. ANY HELP YOU GUYS MAY HAVE I WOULD LOVE TO HEAR IT !! THANKS IN ADVANCE !!!!

need help on b20 vtec setup please

Alright ive seen alot of b20vtec and lsvtec builds, i want to go with a b20 block as if im upgrading from my b16 block i might as well go with the larger of the 2 blocks, I plan on geting a b20z which has the higher compression. I currently have a 2nd gen jdm b16, with P/S. and a ITR oil pump. I want to leave the b16 head stock, with stock cams and valvetrain, will tune on hondata s100, car is obd1. Current mods 4-1 header, test pipe, exhuast, 3inch short ram With Bpi vstack, underdrive pulleys. I just want more power with this simple setup.

Can I just use the b20z block change to arp rod bolts, arp head studs, to keep it reliable?

Also Will my ITR oil pump be fine?

Im going to get a blackworks (skunk2 blox ) replica vtec oil conversion kit,

Would the 2nd gen jdm b16 cams work well enough with the b20z block's pistons, or will my compression be to high or to low?

Would i have to worry about V2V or P2V clearences?

So things I think i need, let me know if theres anything im missing,

-stock b16 fuel injectors
-Vtec oil conversion kit
-ARP Rod Bolts
-ARP Head studs'
-possible aem cam gears ( used if i can find some for 75)

This would be tuned on a hondata s100 at the one of the best tunning shops in NY

Let me know if this is a possible build, and would the stock b16 head work well enough to make some extra hp. Not looking for anything crazy but more power for cheaper then i can with the b16 and then room for building it bigger. I figure if i only need the block and the the conversion kit and ARP gear i could get it all for under 300+ block maybe 300-400

If someone can clairy this setup for me that would be great thanks jay.

Alright soooooo this is the deal. If you're wanting to put a G23 in your 5th or 6th gen accord that's auto. Don't do it unless you have the money to spend. Apparently the accord only has one ecu so that means the tranny computer is incorporated into it as well. If you have researched well and found out that the prelude uses 2 computers, 1 for the engine and 1 for the tranny. Since the accord only has 1 this build or swap won't work unless you can afford or are willing to convert to manual which eliminates the tranny ecu entirely. So yes it does suck, but good at the same time and that is what happened to me. So if you got an auto switch it to manual, but there is one theory I came up with if you want to keep it auto. Just get a h22 automatic tranny swap it in and have an h22 harness for auto. I believe you would have to get the whole harness inside and out, but this is just a theory, so if you try and it doesnt work dont blame me. So since I'm basically 95% done, I'm going for the conversion to manual. Good luck to alllllllllll

Hey everyone.I've been here years back.now here I am.hopefully ill be. Here forwhile.this is my "fisrt post".hopep this iis in correct place.

Well fisrt off I'm gathering stuff little by little, planning on building a turbo gsr.well I just
Purchased a gsr head off a guy.he said it was ls vtec when he had it.well what I'm wondering
Becuase it has the set screw mounted(underneath the head).if I remove that screw, and put the head back on a gsr block.would there be a possility that it could cause oil leak?just wondering because it would have to be tapped for the screw to go in wouldn't it?

I know I gotta replug the back of the head.I just kinda was curious if taping it woulda affect size of oil hole and case issues when head and block mounted together.

I've googled, and found it yes I could use a ls vtec preeped head by plugging back of the head and unplugging oil set screw..but I just want to be double assured.

Or should I try and buy the rest of the ls vtec kit off the guy and use it on gsr block so I wontt have to worry about it?

hypothetical: the Element's engine bay comes with a K24. the Accord's engine bay fits a K24 or a J32/35... although the Element is said to be based on the Civic chassis, is there room between the firewall and radiator for a J-series? i'm sure there's plenty of hood clearance...

I know... "why would you want to give an Element a fighting chance merging with traffic on the interstate?," "just turbo it," "too much fabrication, way too expensive."
