ok i just swapped a d16a1 in my 97 civic ex and when i start the engine it runs like crap for about a minute will usually die a couple times but then will barely run and then runs fine and idles fine but it never does idle high for warm up just stays around 800rpm. im getting only a code 6.

so i started off by replaceing the sensor because i already had an extra one from the y8 and it did the same thing. so next i checked the voltage at the sensor and its getting 12 volts. i know it should only have 5 unless im wrong? i cant find a manuel to save my life i know there on hondahookup but ive been trying to log in for a week and it wont let me. i have a p28 that i bought when i got the engine so i thought that could of been the problem i would of checked at the comp if it was sending 12v but i dont have a diagram to know which wire it is i did check one that i thought it may have been and it was 12v but anyway so i have an extra p28 w/ s300 and i hooked it up to try it. it started up fine and didnt have the problem but its still throwing the code and the s300 is reading 177 degrees when i start up and 150 when it warms up and the idle stays at around 1500 the whole time.. im assuming its some kind of wiring issue but can anyone send me a link to a manuel or something that would help i would really appreciate it. thx.

also i used the same wiring harness from the y8 and when i had the y8 running i actually used a p28 for a little becasue i didnt have the 2nd o2 and the p28 would get rid of the cel and i never had anyproblem w/ it. i stoped using it because i put the s300 in it for a build im doing and just didnt want to use it.

the motor as i was told only has 2k miles on it. it doesnt leak oil any where from the motor. but it seems i have to put 1 quart in a week. the motor when i first got it idle perfect. and now some times when i'm at a stop. its like it wants to turn off and the oil light flickers on and off. the motor still runs perfect but when i get on it theres a cloud of oil or maybe unburnt fuel? the motor is rebuilt with p30 pistons with no tune, everything on the motor is stock. also i adjusted a screw on the throtle body so it will be at a higher rpm and it did nothing. i also reved it up alittle in my drive way and dark black stuff came out of the exhaust piping (i have no muffler) but it left a stain on the cement. dont know if any of this info would help. what can it be?

I already have a 2.5" apexi exhaust bolted to the stock cat. which test pipe do i get. the one for the civic or the delsol? I know that i get the header for a del sol, the b16a2. but i am assuming that i get the test pipe for the civic due to different body lengths right? are their going to be any modifications to make this fit for will it bolt right up?

Hey guys, usually when I'm cruising on the highway and around town I can't get over 150-160* when the heater is moderately on and it's about 40* outside.

Since I've been tuning on my s300 the car runs super rich with the ECT that low, and the IAT's being real low, also.

and I feel like I shouldn't have to lower my the parameters for the car to run correctly.

Could my thermostat be faulty? or should I put something in front of the radiator to limit the flow to it? (it's the OEM 99-00 civic radiator) or do I just need to get over the fact that my coolant system works very well?

another thing that stumps me is my buddy, he has an ITR motor in his hatch with a radiator from a 90-93 integra and he can't ever get below 200* while i'm about 40-50 degrees cooler than him.

i have a LS motor btw,

TIA!

I bought a 97 Integra GSR a few months ago. It had a bad passenger front wheel bearing. I've replaced the bearing a total of 4 times now. Twice I replaced the entire knuckle. The wheel bearings only last 50 miles then they go to complete shit.

Normally when a bearing goes bad, it just makes a loud humming noise. But this is catastrophic. No humming. But the hub wobbles in all directions. It's the hub. It's not the tie rod, bushings, etc etc. I have the knuckle in hand. This after only 50 miles. When I installed it, it had no play at all.

So can anyone tell me what can destroy a wheel bearing in less than 50 miles?

Oil soaked head gasket

To make a long story short, I rebuilt my H22 bottom end in the spring. I re-installed the head using a Cometic multi-layer head gasket and ARP head studs. Recently I was having runnability issues and found broken valve keepers, so I pulled the head to fix them. When I did, the head gasket was soaked with oil on either side. The motor leaked oil worse than before the rebuild, but I attributed that to not replacing the cam seals because that's where it was leaking from. Being a mutli-layer head gasket, I'd like to think that torquing the head would have compressed the layers together, which it did not. I followed the proper torque sequence, and torqued the head to 80ft/lbs, the recommended torque given by ARP. Does either ARP or Cometic require r-torquing the studs after a certain interval? Would the gasket be soaked on both sides with improper torquing?
