Hi everyone,

Greetings from Peru. I own a 1997 Honda Orthia with a B18B non-VTEC engine. I’ve been on a journey restoring the car, which has been in my family since 2003. This particular model is a JDM-exclusive, and it had to be converted to LHD to make it street-legal in my country.

The goal is to end up with an OEM+ reliable and cool wagon for daily driving—commuting to work, running errands, and traveling 400 km (250 miles) twice a month to my hometown. The car already does all of this, but it still has a few details to sort out related to the LHD conversion (which is very well done, but not perfect), a slipping automatic transmission, and some vibrations, possibly from worn engine mounts.

So far, I’ve done some light mods, including a 4-2-1 header, a custom cat-back exhaust, rays light weight rims and stiffer springs sourced from a local factory known for its great quality.

Next steps are fixing the transmission, replacing the mounts, and installing a set of adjustable camshaft gears to fine-tune the timing.

I hope to contribute to this forum with the little knowledge I’ve acquired, and also learn from you guys.

Thank you!
I went to a Honda dealer about 2 weeks ago to have my 2009 Honda Civic Hybrid checked. They told me my transmission was delayed, engine bay was cracked, and my catalytic was bad. I got another opinion and was told only my catalytic needed to be changed. What should I do? The car drives good and only has 158k miles.

Hey there, I've got a 91 DA integra with a N/A jdm b20b swap running on a hondata s300 P28 ecu.
From time to time I will get this hesitation on throttle tip in or light throttle cruising, especially bad near ~2200 RPM. When lightly picking up the throttle after a lift, it briefly hesitates before resuming acceleration/cruising. When it stops hesitating it jerks back into acceleration and it's quite annoying. Asides from throttle tip in, it also occasionally will just cut out for a split second on steady light throttle (in the ~5-7% TPS range.) Now here's where it gets odd; The stutter/hesitation occurs at random, one day its fine the other its not, it goes away for days after pushing the car (ex. a good autocross or track day.) I replaced the TPS sensor which fixed it for ~8k miles before coming back, messed around with overrun fuel cutoff settings and TPS calibration. The overrun settings did make it less jerky, but still hesitates/cuts out. I have an AEM wideband and it seems to only happen after I've lifted for long enough for overrun cutoff to engage (leans out when coasting as intended), and when it cuts out mid cruise it leans out as if hitting overrun fuel cutoff. To me it seems like the ECU is seeing an incorrect TPS value at light throttle and thinks I'm lifting when I'm not.

Other things to note with diagnosis: 66mm TB, Sk2 pro manifold, Sk2 alpha header, tuning in open loop, fuel and ign tables are good and clean

Any input is valuable, thank you!

Hello guys im new in here and a newbie building my first engine, so im really inspired by diymike channel on youtube budget build, i have k24a2 with its original head and will do some mods in it:
1. Skunk2 stage 3 cam
2. Supertech valvetrain set
3. Supertech forged piston 87.5mm 12.5 comp(i actually want to use nippon racing 87.5mm type s cast piston but a guy in other forum told me to get a forged piston to if i want my motor to last in drag races)
4. Maxpeeding rod this come with arp 2000 rod bolt(i was gonna use my original rod but my it is quite rusted and have some kind of stone like sludge in its body)
5. 4p type s oil pump
5. Ati super damper
6. Action clutch lightweight flywheel
7. Acl race or king race

I hope this setup will get me to 300hp ish and i understand due to long stroke of k24, this engine doesnt like high rpm and im fine with it, a guy told me to get arp 625 rod bolts if i want these to lasts a lot of 8k pulls, but the price of arp 625 is quite expensive about 400$ i think the bolt is 3/8" 1600"?
Do i really need arp 625? I think its quite a mild build my setup?

This is the pic of arp 2000 that come from maxpeedingrod

Hi all, recently purchased an EG. The rear left calipers sprung a leak however the caliper setup all round has been modified to a big brake setup. Ive tried a 1996 Integra type r caliper and an MG zs180 caliper. Neither calipers bridge is wide enough. With a verniers the caliper currently on the car bridge measures to be 45mm. It's also a Lucas caliper. Any ideas ?

Recently did a lot to refresh the engine on my 98 Civic CX, 5 speed. I've replaced all the sensors, new IACV (twice) and new motor mounts. Replaced head gasket, had head machined for flatness, etc...

Issue I'm having is sometimes, after driving the car for a several miles, it will throw a P0505 code and the car will begin jerking when pressing the gas pedal or releasing the gas pedal. If I clear the code, it acts completely normal. The time it takes for it to start acting up varies greatly. Sometimes I will drive it for 20 miles and never skips a beat, then other times it happens after only a few miles into the drive...I've checked for vacuum leaks, none that I can see even after smoke test.

Any ideas on what to check on next that results in this behavior?
