VSS wiring question. Pin A18
I have an auto K24A1 harness mated to a K24A1, but I am using a base model RSX 5 speed tranny. I swapped this it into an EF and I am also using a Ktuned conversion harness along with Kpro. So far the car has been started with this wiring combination. Now I am working on addressing the VSS situation. The auto harness is not pinned at A18 for the VSS signal. I got some diagrams from factory service manuals and did a little research. I just want to get some other opinions about my options here.
The auto CRV transmission had two speed sensors for the input and output shaft. Both connectors are 3 wire connectors, but will not fit on a base model RSX speed sensor, however; one will stretch to the location of the VSS so that is the wiring I want to use. I will just have to repin those wires to a connector that will work on the VSS. According to the manuals the wires for the auto speed sensor work the same as with any manual transmission VSS. There is a power, ground, and signal wire. It seems that the signal wire feeds the ECU a voltage of no more than 5 volts when the transmission is turning so that should work, right? I should be able to take the signal wire and swap it from the original location on the harness which is pin C15 over to pin A18 like that of a manual harness, right?
Would there be any problems with this?
