That ECU has been chipped by the factory. The problem is that now you have to remove the chip to install the socket and a blank SST chip to program. Add datalogging pins to CN2 and you are done.

I don't recommend you tackle this yourself if you've never done it or don't have the proper equipment as it's very easy to lift traces when removing the chip.

I do this for a living so if you need assistance, PM me.

PS. I don't think that's a real P30 as it does not have a knock board. It's a -G00 revisión so maybe that one came without knock but since I can't read the CPU code, I cannot validate it.

As mentioned by 7rrivera7 that is a factory chipped ecu.

The ecu is a real p30, however a G version which has no knock or atmospheric pressure sensor.

Unless you have the proper equipment and experience on modifying cirquit boards you should not try to chip the ecu your self.

You should mail the ecu in to be chipped or buy a pre-chipped ecu.

Check out Phearable.net for more information.

so its been factory chipped, are data logging pins able to be added to tune this chip or is a blank sst chip still needed? and where can i find the cpu code ill post it up, knowledge is power the more i can find out the better i know what im dealing with

Wow.... is that a UV based EPROM chip? It's been at least 15 years since I last saw one of those.

You will need to remove that chip and have a socket installed. Most tuners don't use chips for tuning anymore. They use a ROM emulator like the Moates ostrich, Neptune Demon or Hondata hardware.

If you want you can start reading this; http://static.moates.net/zips/crome/...ME%20v1.06.pdf

yea i have that pdf and have been reading it and it is very detailed and hard to understand but ill get there. in regards to the EPROM chip is it tuneable? is there any performance difference between factory tuned and not factory tuned? and also is it just that chip that needs taking out and not the others that come with aftermarket chip upgrades? one last minute thing iv been looking at these here in NZ what do you think about them? 92 - 96 Honda Del Sol B16A2 ECU Upgrade Chip | Trade Me

Looks like the CPU code is "230" which makes this ECU a P28 and not a P30.

When using Crome, you should start with a P30 map as it has the most support.

I would imagine that it is a factory reprogrammed P28 board/chipset (Oki 66x CPU ID number 230). They would have re-labeled it as a P30 because that is probably the tune is on the extended EPROM chip (Oki 80).

The 66x CPU ID number on a P30 chipset would be ether 245 or 246.

The PGMFI.org Library has a list of all the ECUs and there processor code numbers.

CPU code 230 is the large number on the biggest chip
