p28 ecu swap issues,car worked fine for an hour then turns off n wont start? bad ecu?
Hey guys i need some help seriously,
I got a 1997 honda civic ex 4 door d16y8 eveything except for a d16A block and some dc headers,
i just got a p28 ecu virgin i opened it up and didnt see any mods obd1 cuz i have that obd 1 block with no knock sensor n my p2p is showing a c.e.l for that , i got the obd 2A to obd 1 ecu jumper harness.
i went to plug in the new ecu yesterday to see how it worked n if it worked i pluged everything right and put the key to the on position so the ecu can start loading the c.e.l was off i left it like that for about 30 secs then i started her up and she had a nasty start up like if she was choking wit no gas only for 5-10 secs then the c.e.l. came on ( p0141 i need a o2 sensor) and the car was normal and kept a steady idle at 1k rpms, i read it was normal to start like that cuz the ecu is adjusting the iacv valves and everything.
so i left it idleing for about 20 mins while i monitored it and everything was fine actually great, i had a horrible idle problem with my p2p and this p28 kept my idle perfect at 1k so after waiting the 20 mins the car warmed up and everything so i deciaded to take it for a test drive,
i started slow not passing 3k rpms then after a while i started hitting 4-5k rpms and she felt awesome! i felt more power more pressure when i hit the gas, and there was no idle problems ! the car was better than ever, i let my bro in law test it and he felt the same thing more power and everything felt better.
i went to the store nearby, when i got in my car again i put the key to the on position and the c.e.l went off?? i didnt think it was suppose to go off?? i started her up and she started fine but the c.e.l stayed off? i know i should come on cuz my sensor is not connected at all? so i was heading home checking if it came on and it didnt...
my bro inlaw won a scratcher prize so we went back to the store, this time i stayed outside wit my car on i reved her up to like 4k to hear it and the revs on the way down stayed high reved at 2k for about 20-30 secs then just turned off?? i tried starting her back up but she wouldnt she would crank chuchuchu and the oil and battery light in the gauge started flashing n sputtering but she didnt want to start? i tried it again and this time steppped on the gas also and she started but choking again only for a second tho so i ran to my house and left her idleing while i checked to see if she would turn off again and she did i tried checking my starter and wires and turned her on again but minutes later she shut off??
i put in my stock p2p and the car went back to the way it was fucked up idle and weaker acceleration but at least she didnt turn off on me anymore
i was reading that my ecu might be fried but i saw if its fried it wouldnt work at all but this one worked great for an hour?
the part that i find wierd is when i got back in my car from the store and the c.e.l went off? then i started her and the c.e.l stayed off but i clearly have a unplugged o2 sensor so it shouldve came on?
im so fucken pissed i got a horrible tease for a hour wit my car not idleing and more power to just have her not starting at all , but i have no idea wut to do ?
sorry for the long post but i want to give the exact details cuz i know that helps identifying a problem if anyone can help me out with any help, how to test the ecu? or maybe i need to adjust something ? i dont know any advice will help

i know usually someone replys within minutes , is it cuz the post is too long or cuz they dont know about this problem lol?
and yea if you dont post again the thread just goes to the bottom and people searchin for new threads wont see it lol i need help with this i dont have money to go out n test out a new p28

too much for one to read... Does the fuel pump prime when the key is in position II, and does the cel cycle on and off before starting the car?
