dyno tune vs track tune

dyno tune vs track tune
im kinda not understanding it completely
why do some people say that a road tune is better than dyno tune?
and how would someone get better times after a track tune?
if the car is tuned at dyno isn't it supposed to be tuned for best power output?
what I mean is
when the car is tuned at the dyno its tuned to give best power and AFR is adjusted.

Re: dyno tune vs track tune
dynos provide a safe place to tune. o and thay have numbers if thats what your after.
imo a proper tune consist of both a dyno and a road tune. the dyno can only simulate soo much. but the real world has alot more to offer than the simulation program.
so when you tune on the street its not as safe but the tune is better because its a real world real time tune with the car driving on the ground. when its on a dyno the weights are different and the machine has to conpensate for that. sometimes its too much and sometimes its too little. so a proper tuned dyno is a good one.
plus on a dyno you have to simulate the air and we all know some all motor guys can get crazy and put ice all over there intake and a bunch of fans in front of the intake to get a "good number".
if you want a dyno sheet get a dyno tune. if you want a good tune get a road tune. the tuner plays a huge role in the tune also. some guys tuning is second nature and they can tune old school. some guys need a dyno. just becaus eits on a dyno does not make it a better tune like most would assume.
a dyno basically adds safety to tuning. everyone doesnt have a safe place to go full throttle on a 700whp civic. so they made dynos.
go with what the tuners feels is better to do. if he is more confident and positive it will result in a better tune.
good luck and i hope i answered your question with my ramblings.
