Default B18B1 Rebuild assistance!

I am bout to rebuild a B18B1 engine. I'm looking for suggestions and ideas for the best resaults. Also, i have heard that the B16 head will fit on the 1.8 block. Is this true? is it safe? I know better than to mess with D series head swaps (1.5 vTec ).

you will have to run an external oil line to the b16 head. my buddy had a ls/vtec swap in his hatch and it didnt last long, so i wouldnt do it. i am building a b18b1 with type r pistons so it will be a streetable high compression motor. i have other stuff going into the motor that will make more power that the ls/vtec for less money.with the non vtec you will have power from idle to redline rather than waiting to hit vtec then producing good power.if you want to know what i am putting into my motor to get some ideas pm me.

i built a ls vtec an its been 2 years ans still runs strong with 12.4:1 compression. if u do a b16 head on the ls block make sure to get arp head studs and arp rod bolts. the rod bolts are the weakest link. also dont rev it past 8k. and get tuned right a way because stock vtec ecu runs them like poop. also i would recomand getting adjustable cam gears. you will also need gsr/itr water pump and gsr/itr timing belt, external oil line from the block to the head. u will need to get the oil passage in the head for the vtec taped and plugged. a lsvtec headgasket, heres my setup

ls block
new ls crank
ls rods
acl bearings
jdm itr pistons
itr water pump
itr timing belt
jdm itr head stock
aem cam gears
310cc injectors
aem fuel rail and fpr
stock headers itr
2.5'' exhaust
s300

compression ratios is 12.4:1

216whp/167tq 93 octane.
