Default I have a Samsung Galaxy S2 that is running slow. Please help.

Thread title says it all. Phone is a few months old and is on AT&T if that matters. Phone software is up to date, and it's not unlocked. It is mainly used for texting, minimal data usage (not sure if GroupMe uses data, but that gets used very often.)

I am noticing the most 'lag' when going in/out of the text message screen. Upon writing text, I'll write it in, and then it'll just appear (opposed to it being smooth as I enter each letter.)

What can I do to speed this sucker up to how it was when I first got it?

Thanks,
Stu

I cleared the cache and that helped some. Also, I tend to have 1-2 applications at most running at one time, but close them all frequently.

Sounds normal to me as all android software run slow besides jellybean. You must be new to Android phones.

Usually a reboot fixes any misbehaving that I notice. Sometimes mine gets all slow like that too, but it's usually when I haven't reset it in a few days. I blame memory leaks in poorly coded apps.

Not much you can do really, other reboot, make sure all apps are closed, and finally do a master reset if all else fails.

Seems to be working better since I cleared the cache. Yes, this is my first Android phone.

How many text messages and conversations do you have in your phone?
