Default google chrome/shockwave "unresponsive, slow, memory leak, crash, et al"

i've searched and searched but chrome continually crashes on me.

problem:
and error stating "a movie is causing shockwave flash script to run slowly, and my cause your computer to become unresponsive. abort this script now?"

now clicking "yes" leaves a couple random tabs in a permanently loading state. you can look at them, and they are just a blank white window. opening windows task manager shows them as ~100kb which quickly grows at roughly 5kbps.. earlier i finally ended the process and ultimately shut down chrome after it had reached 1.2 GB.
...
clicking "no" sends things to the land of ctr alt delete. its the only thing that'll get google to disappear, reappear, anything. and once its closed i don't have to watch my system resources being absorbed by the ravenous memory leak (i'll continue saying memory leak because that is what it appears to be from best i can see.. flash, under google, leaking memory untill it reaches the bursting point of its fat wasteline)

when chrome is running nomally its own taskmanager shows it to run at <100kb and when at a flash site, including honda-tech and many, many others.. shockwave shows to run at ~60kb. untill a click, any click, pisses it off and sends the google taskmanager unresponsive (without realizing its unresponsive) and again starts the memory leak. thinks will load forever and eventually i'll get the error message that a 'movie' is causing flash to be slow. and so it begins again.

findings:

-it appears to be a memory leak from flash running in google chrome

-it occurs randomly. could have 2 tabs open, could wait untill there are 12+

-i found some techie stuff stating it had to do with page faults in google chrome (but i'm not 100% as to how this would relate to flash. is it trying to remember every 'flash' of the flash programs running? wtf, i'd think this would be something you'd program around from the get go)

-this did NOT occur before yesterday. chrome updates automatically, while running, so it could be the result of updates (???) but windows and every ****ing thing else hasnt updated in atleast a week, but yes they are updated.

-numbers: facebook, and 16 other tabs can cause <200kb memory usage. facebook, alone, occasionally, can take up to 500kb memory. still isn't bad but sounds a bit much to be hanging onto. 2 tabs of honda-tech can be 16kb. sometimes one tab of honda-tech can be as much as 200kb... that tab or multiple tabs can run away to a steady 200MB of memory. when they are leaking it can grow from 16kb to 200kb in seconds, come back in an hour and the computer is begging to be shot and as much as 1.5GB are on the floor.

closing:

it seems i am not the only person this is happening to here on the webz. it seems random sites cause it, and not necessarily the same site will cause it to do its thing to two different people suffering from this problem. as i said, i've been loading every new thread on honda-tech in a different tab since google chrome came out.. and it just started to happen a day ago.

i've seen it happening to people with firefox, a few on internet explorer, as well as just about every other program (but the few randoms are just becuase the program sucks, it could crash on anybody. the chronic suffers are chrome and select firefox).

why is this happening? why is this happening NOW? it isn't like chrome suddenly changed how it works from the beginning to the ending of its coding.

yes, everything is installed, working, updated, scanned, signed, sealed, approved, happy, virus free.

possible registry or something high-level problem? i wouldn't know how to diagnose a truely technical issue. but nothing has changed on my system.

my computer:
vista, 2gb ram, less than a year old. running AVG free and spybot S&D along with all vistas bells, whistles, prompts and security features.

anyone? i've used chrome since it came out and have loved it. its quick, smooth, simple. but running it for ten minutes constantly checking window's AND google's task manager to make sure the program is actually running, then having to end the program/processes anyway when it finally crashes... sucks.

i'm using firefox now, but its slow, ugly. but still alot better than ie. but the ease of tabs and overall function and form of chrome is missed.

i'll be listening for any direction or $.02 i can get...

so firefox gave me the error today and crashed... back to using google. although it goofs up more, i can usually use chrome's task manager to end the process before it crashes the entire browser.

cliffs: chrome

or

cliffs: shockwave

Take your pick, both horribly codes piles of junk imho. Shockwave being the worse imho.

idk.. chrome is way more stable and much faster on both of my computers than IE or Firefox.

I think the problem here is Flash.. that **** sucks

Shockwave is not flash. Although they are both owned by Adobe it is only due to the acquisition of Macromedia.
