right now im using a stock gsr trans trapping at 121mph at the very top of 4th (8k rpm?) only making ~360whp

Ill be making somewhere about 480 next season and shifting into 5th will really slow me down. should i just rev the motor out a little more in 4th? pistons rods stock sleeve gsr

what should i be trapping high 120's? should go 10.9's

with a 9k rpm im am able to stay in 4th with a GSR trans trapping 133 in the 1/4

I dont know what your build is but if you have the proper valvetrain rev that bitch to 10k.

I was able to hit 144 at a 9k rev limit with 24.5 slicks . As stated before more revs will help a lot .

Same here. Turn the limiter up, if valve train will support, and also with 480whp a 24.5 tire will be perfect

im using a 24.5
ill be revving it out to ~8700 so i should deff be able to stretch out. thanks for the response guys

you can also look into going with an ls final drive with a gsr gearset, only drawback is the fact that you would need a new differential. That's the setup I had with a stock ls turbo going to 7500 and I stuck with it for my ls/vtec. only went to the track twice on my new setup but I went 133 comfortably in 4th gear (~85-8600 according to my datalogs- 9000 rpm rev limiter) on 24.5's.



ps- i had to go to 5th with a gsr trans with ITR final drive with that same ls turbo and trust me i know how you feel... 5th gear at the 1000' is not cool haha thats why i went to this setup a long time ago

Gsr tranny is the one you want and it will suit you for any future power. As you make more hp's you will also find yourself raising the rev limiter. Thats just the nature of these engines.

Going through the traps right at the top of 4th is what you're shooting for.
