im relocating my battery down next to my intercooler ive seen alot of people with it mounted on passenger side wondering what you guys recommend on a good racing battery to go with what model you use and best place to order it from?

I went through two Odyssey PC680's before I learned that standard automotive alternators will damage a gel-cell battery.

I now have a Tempest BAB26-12. It is an absorbent glass mat battery, the same dimensions as the PC680, and cheaper. Mine's been going strong for years.

ive seen alot of odyssey batteries used but the 680 seems so small id be afraid it would die fast would it be better to run the 925? the tempest and shurkien seem really cheap for that kind of battery how long u guys been using them are u running high hp motor with big fuel pump, elec fan, elec water pump putting good draw on them?

anyone on here running kinetik or xspower i had kinetik in my bass competition truck a few years back and they were great but not sure if there racing bateries are any good

I've tried oddesey battery 680 and went through 4 of them in no time. Never again i would use them. That's included 2 of my friends car that were using the same battery. I"ve used shuriken battery for 2 years now and still going strong putting from 650-696whp, using aeromotive eliminator fuel pump, aftermarket radiator fan.

optima red top. found it from a friend out of his junk pile 6 years ago, battery shows 3.5v when I tested it, I bought a cheap charger and gave it life, its been loyal since then.

I've been using the shuriken bt20 as well... We have two other cars on them one street car and one other drag car. It seems to work well but seems to need charged sometimes if not driven regularly and the batt cutoff is left on. If I kill the batt cutoff between races I have no problems when I turn it back on for use.

I have an alternator, no issue. I run dual 044's, 1300cc injectors, and a Spal fan that will suck in small children. (Biggest one they offer with a sealed motor, same that the speedfactory sire has for sale.) The battery is small, so I have a harbor freight turnkey cutoff that I remove when the car isn't being used to eliminate any parasitic draw. (It just disconnects the ground from the chassis basically.)

A standard automotive alternator doesn't charge a battery the same way a gel-cell needs to be charged. Basically the way it was explained to me is that a standard alternator will put air pockets in the gel and it slowly dies. I went to an AGM battery and had no further issues.

Read this:

"The battery charger being used to recharge the battery(s) must be designed or adjustable for Gel Cell Batteries. If you are using an alternator to recharge a true Gel Cell a special regulator must be installed."

I use xstatic 800 batteries. The pc680s from odyssey are garbage. Xstatic is local to me and I get good discounts on their stuff. Pm me for further info...

Oddessy 680 is agm, not gel. If you keep it charged they work ok.

I want those vids! Fall River batteries have been good to me Hc20, but if it's for a daily driver I just be taking my *** to advance auto parts lol
