Sorry for the loss of everyone close to him. What was the cause of the accident? Someone said 150 into the wall but what caused him to go to the wall?

The tech for IFO events has always been on the soft side when not at a NHRA track
Very sad day. With an accident like this and rolling at 150mph, it would be tough to come out of it even with a proper cage. The body can only take so much.

I was there and saw most of happened .. Right after he did a 9 second pass he slid into the guard rails and his car flipped a few times.. They said that the crx that went before him looked like it skated into the wall . They did not have an ambulance on the location so they had to be called .. If the track would of been proper this might not of happened. The day was never safe to begin with it was extra windy, cold and there was a motor cross event going on next to the end of the strip where he crashed. There is also a dip in the concrete after the 1/4. Dips, gutted Honda crx with slicks, possibly cold ground, dirt, and strong winds +150mph don't go together. Idk why they let him run a 9 possibly 8 second car with only a street cage. he still had control of the car when he didn't let up it was when he was not accelerating when something happened causing him to lose complete control and go over the rail on the other side of the track. only he knows exactly what happened... It's very sad. I did not know him, but I was at the event today. Emergency response was extremely slow. All things considered, his death should be a huge eye opener that some things need to change. This was my first and probably last visit to this Wichita track. I find it interesting that this event was hosted there when there is an extremely nice NHRA track 2 hrs away in Topeka that has a first response on site.

So very sad to see this . I have no idea who this person was except for a fellow racer . My heart goes out to his family and friends who will have the burden of dealing with this tragedy for a long time . RIP Jason ......

Wow sorry for his family and close friends. This goes to show you just how safety is. If your car is not up to par and you continue to race it, STOP!!
