Question golden eagle main Girdle arp bolt torque
Hi I having a problem with my b16a2 with golden eagle main Girdle soon as I torque then to arp spec 80ft lb it deforms my cranks caps I have it all line hored but soon at I go any over 65ft lb deforms the block... Some people say run it at 56 ft lbs on #1 and 5 mains / 49 ft lbs on #2,3 and 4 mains.

80 ft/lbs?! holy torque bat man back that off. I'd check the bearings and make sure they are smooth w/ no flat spots...

I had the same problem 10 years ago..
I ended up doing 100NM or 74ft lbs and did a line bore.. If I remeber corectly it was the main caps that deform only, but after the line bore evertything was good..
The arp nut threads are much more narrower that the stock screws. That makes the clampingforce much greater with the ARP bolts comparrd to the stock screws at the same tourqe. Alot of people forget that.

Thanks for all the posts... me and my engine build rehore for the 4 time check all the bearing again it seems happy at 70ft lbs so going run the engine in then check the bearing again
